Pawan Singh Booked For Alleged Rs. 1.5 Crore Fraud, Accused Of Threatening To Kill The Businessman

Pawan Singh is a well-known actor, singer, music composer and live performer. He primarily works in the Bhojpuri film industry and has been active in the entertainment world for almost three decades. He made his Bollywood debut as a singer for Stree 2. However, it's not his professional life that has brought him into the limelight, but rather a shocking revelation that has left the entire country shocked.

Pawan Singh booked for alleged fraud

Pawan Singh landed himself in great trouble in the spiritual capital of India, Varanasi. The actor found himself in rough waters after he was booked for an alleged fraud. According to reports, the actor was named in a Rs. 1.5 crore fraud case at the Varanasi Cantt police station on the orders of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

Pawan Singh, along with Premshankar Rai, his wife, Seema Rai and film director, Arvind Choubey, have been accused of cheating a businessman. The Kashi-based businessman was allegedly promised an investment in a Bhojpuri film that never happened. However, things eventually got out of hand the case was filed against them.

Who lodged a complaint against Pawan Singh and why?

The businessman, later identified as Vishal Singh, has lodged a complaint against Pawan and three others under sections 420, 406, 467, 468, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. For the unversed, Vishal is the resident of Nati Imli in Varanasi and runs a hotel and Tour business in the city. Premshankar Rai had allegedly approached the businessman along with his wife during his studies in Mumbai and convinced him to make a massive investment.

According to the report, the husband and wife convinced Vishal to invest Rs. 1.5 crore in a Bhojpuri film, assuring that the money would be returned along with profit. Following this, Vishal deposited around Rs. 32.60 lakh in instalments into their account, and approximately Rs. 1.25 crore was spent on the film's shooting and post-production activities. However, neither the money was returned nor was a share in the profits given.

Further allegations revealed that the accused forged documents to present Vishal Singh as the producer and started to evade him when he demanded his money back. Additionally, Pawan Singh allegedly threatened to kill Vishal. Upon hearing the victim’s application, the court directed the Varanasi Cantt police station to register a case and initiate an investigation.

Pawan Singh has been surrounded by controversies as of late

Pawan Singh has recently found himself embroiled in several controversies. Previously, the actor had sparked widespread criticism after a video of him touching Angali Raghav inappropriately during a cultural programme went viral. The visibly uncomfortable Haryanvi actress immediately responded that there was nothing, but Pawan ignored her and continued, leaving the actress uneasy and the audience displeased.

The video soon garnered millions of views and sparked outrage online. While Pawan tried to soothe the blaze by issuing an apology, the controversy deepened as the matter reached the Women's Commission. Anjali also shared a video expressing her discomfort with the incident. Her remarks triggered strong reactions from fans and colleagues alike, further intensifying the debate around Pawan's conduct.
