Parineeti Chopra Drops Hint About Not Attending Mannara Chopra's Dad, Raman Rai Handa's Funeral

The sudden demise of Mannara Chopra’s dad, Raman Rai Handa, at the age of 72 came as a shock to the Chopra-Handa household. For the unversed, Raman passed away on June 16, 2025, reportedly due to age-related health issues. On June 18, 2025, his last rites were performed in Mumbai. Many noticed that Mannara’s cousins, Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, were missing during the funeral. While Priyanka paid her tribute to her uncle, Raman Rai Handa, Parineeti dropped a hint about skipping his last rites.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Parineeti posted two pictures of scenic locations from London, UK, seemingly hinting at why she couldn’t attend Mannara’s dad, Raman Rai Handa’s funeral. The pictures were shared by Parineeti in the wee hours of June 19, 2025. While Parineeti is away, her father, Pawan Chopra and her brother, Sahaj Chopra, were spotted at the funeral and were seen consoling Mannara and her family. Not just Parineeti, Priyanka Chopra, one of the cousins of Mannara Chopra, couldn’t attend her uncle’s last rites either. Parineeti is yet to give any reaction to her uncle’s death, but Priyanka paid a tribute to him. Taking to her Instagram Stories on June 17, 2025, she wrote:

"You’ll always be in our hearts. Rest easy, Raman uncle (fufaji). Om Shanti."

During Raman Rai Handa's funeral, Mannara Chopra and her sister, Mitali Chopra, were seen wearing white suits. The sudden demise of Raman was quite shocking for his family. For the unversed, Raman Rai Handa is survived by his wife, Kamini Chopra and two daughters, Mannara and Mitali. Both Mannara and Mitali were inconsolable when they bid a final goodbye to their father, Raman. Mannara was also seen carrying her dad’s parthiv sharir along with the male members of the family.

Raman Rai Handa was a reputed advocate at the Delhi High Court. It was his elder daughter, Mannara, who first shared the disheartening news about her father’s demise on June 16, 2025. According to a statement by Mannara’s cousin and actress Meera Chopra, Raman was hospitalised due to some health problems. As per a report by Money Control, Raman was not doing well for the past few days and reportedly passed away due to some age-related health scare. Taking to her IG Stories, Mannara wrote:

"Adv. Raman Rai Handa. 25/09/1953 - 16/06/2025. With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father, who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/June/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family."

In a brief conversation with Instant Bollywood, Meera Chopra also reacted to Mannara’s dad passing away. She was reportedly attending a promotional event, where Ankita Lokhande’s husband, Vicky Jain, informed her about Raman Rai Handa’s death. Meera shared that she didn’t know the exact reason behind his passing away, but she knew that he was hospitalised. In her words:

"I know, maybe when I was inside the event, Vicky told me… I knew he was in the hospital. Vicky told me that he has died. I don’t know... I don’t know. He was fine, so I don’t know what exactly happened. I think I’m going to go and find out, but it’s very sad."
