Hera Pheri 3's announcement after two decades brought a lot of joy to fans of the franchise who haven't been able to get over the previous classics. The most exciting part was that the original cast of the film, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty, was signed to reprise their roles of 'Raju', 'Shyam' and 'Baburao'. But the excitement has dwindled after Paresh's sudden exit promopted Akshay's production house to file a lawsuit against him. With each passing day, fans are witnessing a rift between Akshay's team and Paresh becoming more intense. Now, in a new update, Paresh Rawal's team has finally revealed the reason for his exit.
After staying silent against the allegations made by Akshay Kumar's legal team in their lawsuit, Paresh Rawal broke his silence and shared a post on X to reveal that his lawyer sent a response about his exit to the film's makers to end the issues between them. Later in the day, his legal team shared a statement with IANS to share his side of the story and defended his decision to exit Hera Pheri 3. According to them, the upcoming film's makers didn't provide Paresh with the story, screenplay and long form contract of the film promised by them. In their words:
"Admittedly, they did not deliver the story, screenplay and also a draft of a long-form agreement which was fundamental to the engagement of our client."
They further shared that another reason for Paresh Rawal's exit was a notice from Firoz Nadiadwala, the cousin of producer, Sajid Nadiadwala. Firoz, who produced the original Hera Pheri franchise, had raised an issue on the making of the film. All these issues compelled the Ready actor to leave the film, and he returned the money with interest for it to maintain his bond with the film producer. For those unaware, it was reported that Akshay Kumar's production house got the rights of the franchise from the original makers to make it's third instalment.
Earlier, Pooja Tidke, from the legal team of Akshay Kumar's production house claimed that Paresh had shot the promo for the film and a few minutes from the film itself. Consequently, his exit created problems like financial losses related to investments, crew, logistics and upcoming trailer shoot. As a result, they sought Rs. 25 crore in the lawsuit from Paresh for the damages. Responding to the same, Paresh's lawyers said:
"First, they accepted the monies but later, unfortunately, sent an untenable notice to our client when knowingly nothing was and is ready, including no story and cloud over the title, so there can never be any loss. I hope they will accept this reality and move on from our client".
Amid the issue between Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's legal team, Suniel Shetty sat down for an interview with The Lallantop. During the conversation, he recalled his time shooting for the Hera Pheri 3 promo and shared that they didn't feel like they were shooting it after 25 years. Rather, working with the same cast and filmmaker, Priyadarshan felt like the continuity of their previous film, highlighting their mutual comfort with each other. He added that he has been in shock over Paresh's exit since last week, not only him but also Akshay, others and their families.
