'Pani' Actress, Abhinaya Announces Engagement Weeks After Confessing About Her 15-Year Relationship

Abhinaya is an actress and model who predominantly works in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films. She made her acting debut with Naadodigal in 2009 and since has been winning the hearts of the audience. Despite her speech and hearing impairment, the actress has found her footing in the entertainment industry. 

Abhinaya announces engagement with her childhood friend

Abhinaya has been extremely private when it came to her personal life. However, she put an end to all the speculations about her dating life and shared the details of her relationship. Merely a month after she went public about her relationship, the actress has announced her engagement as well. For the unversed, Abhinaya revealed that she had been in a relationship with a childhood friend for the past 15 years. 

The actress took to her official Instagram handle on March 9, 2025, and shared the joyous news of her engagement. Abhinaya shared a symbolic image and posted a picture of her and her partner's hands ringing the temple bell. The photo also featured the gorgeous engagement ring on their fingers. Her fiance's arm also showcased a tattoo, while Abhinaya's hand was decked with bangles. The Pani actress has decided to keep her partner's identity private for now. She captioned the post:

"Ring the bells, count the blessings — forever starts today! #Engaged #BellsAndBlessings." 

Abhinaya had recently shared about her relationship

In a recent interview with Galatta, Abhinaya had opened up about her long-term relationship. The actress described her partner as someone with whom she could share anything. She revealed that she was in a relationship with her childhood friend, and they had been dating for 15 years. She called her bond with her now-fiance a judgement-free zone. She was quoted as saying: 

"I am currently in a relationship with my childhood friend. We’ve shared a beautiful bond for 15 years. He is someone with whom I can discuss anything openly, without any fear of judgment."

However, during the conversation, Abhinaya shared that they had not planned their wedding yet. She shared that she still had many goals to achieve before taking the next step. Her announcement post left her fans surprised. For a long time, there were rumours that she was dating Tamil actor Vishal, although Abhinaya dismissed them as baseless. She was quoted as saying:

"I still have many goals to achieve personally and professionally before taking that step."

The comment section was filled with congratulatory comments, some even wondered who the man who won Abhinaya's heart was.
