'Panchayat 4' Ends On A Cliffhanger: What's Next? Will There Be A Season 5? Expected Release Details

Panchayat has been winning hearts with its authentic storytelling, including relatable characters set in a rural background. The series revolves around 'Jitendra Kumar', who, despite being an engineer, takes a job in the Panchayat of a rural village, as he didn't get a better job after college.

Initially, he was frustrated and felt struck by his mundane life, but eventually, he felt connected to the villagers of Phulera. Season 4 was recently released, and unlike every time, it has marked its spot among the trending topics, with people loving every bit and piece of the storytelling. Well, the cliffhanger in the end left people wondering if there will be a season 5 of this series.

Will there be a season 5 of Panchayat? When can it be released, and what can we expect?

Reportedly, the makers of Panchayat have hinted that there could be two more seasons of the series, while a cast member has already spilt the beans in an interview, as reported. Saanvika, who plays the role of 'Rinki' in the series, earlier reportedly told Times Now that the process of season 5 has already begun.

Saanvika mentioned that the potential release of this season can happen in the middle of 2026 or towards the end of the year. Saanvika stated that they are likely to begin shooting for the next season towards the end of 2025. She further mentioned that the writing has started, and once it's done, the shooting will begin. Saanvika can be quoted as saying:

"The process for Panchayat Season 5 has begun, and hopefully, maybe by mid-next year or sometime in next year, it will be released. And we are likely to begin the shoot for season 5, maybe at the end of this year or next year, so writing has started. So once the writing is done, we will start shooting."

Panchayat Season 4, Panchayat Season 4 Ending

Given that season 4 ended with a cliffhanger, it's likely understandable that there will possibly be another season to showcase how things will unfold. With 'Jitendra' clearing 97 per cent in CAT, and being caught up in the emotional conflict between his personal success and the grief of the thoughts of leaving Phulera behind, with which he has already formed a connection, season 5 is also going to be a fan favourite. Apart from that, a power shift could also be expected with 'Kranti Devi' and 'Bhushan' being in charge, layered with tension. So, if there will be a season 5, then just like every time, Panchayat will rule it once again, at least as per what the fans are expecting.

More about Panchayat 4

The recent topic among the OTT binge-watchers is surely Panchayat 4. Well, talking about the reviews that Panchayat 4 got, it's mixed. While the audience is in love with the emotional depth and performance of the cast, the missing humour and less pacing have become the primary concerns. While some felt that it was dragged, which led it to feel 'boring', others mentioned that season 4 had rich storytelling.

Critics have highlighted the lower ending to be the lagging point of the season. Overall, Panchayat 4 has bagged ratings between 3.0 and 4.5 on a scale of 5. The season began from where season 3 left off, and ended with the power shift of 'Kranti Devi' winning the election, putting the storm around 'Jitendra' more intensified, along with him clearing CAT with 97 per cent.
