Pakistani drama, Mannat Murad, starring the renowned actors, Iqra Aziz and Talha Chahour in the titular roles, is one of the best serials of contemporary times. The show’s first episode was aired on September 26, 2023, and is still going on. The audience enjoys the lead couple's chemistry and the subplots between their families. Recently, after overcoming obstacles, the couple finally got married.
‘Mannat’ and ‘Murad’s wedding scene was televised on November 14, 2023, and that seemingly caused a controversy. The reel wedding of the titular characters in Mannat Murad had a striking resemblance with the real-life wedding festivities of the Pakistani actress, Saboor Aly and her actor-husband, Ali Ansari.

Mannat Murad’s wedding sequence had quite a few similarities with the real wedding ceremony of the Pakistani actress, Saboor Aly and her husband, Ali Ansari. For the unversed, Saboor and Ali got married on January 7, 2022. Starting from the beautiful wedding outfit that Iqra Aziz donned in the drama to the decorations of the venue, there were many uncanny resemblances to Saboor's special day.
Iqra as ‘Mannat’ and Saboor Aly in real life wore the same Faiza Saqlain wedding dress. On the other hand, Talha's sherwani had a different design, but it seemed to draw some inspiration from Ali Ansari’s sherwani. The wedding venue appeared to be heavily influenced by Saboor's nikkah venue, which was highly praised for its decorations. It seems that the makers of Mannat Murad drew inspiration from Saboor Aly and Ali Ansari's real-life wedding, as their shoot had a similar vibe.

But this incident has angered Saboor Aly as she thinks that Iqra Aziz has blatantly copied her wedding look instead of drawing inspiration from it. She shared a post uploaded by the media outlet, Diva Magazine Pakistan, on her Instagram story and penned her thoughts on this incident. She said:
“And how am I supposed to feel about this? My moment. My memories. My sentiments. My vision and my look for the most special day of my life. My heart was put into every little detail of my entire look. However, there’s a difference between being inspired and copying. Special day coped blatantly.”
Saboor Aly’s outrage is not going well with the netizens. Some have commented on Diva Magazine’s IG post that it’s just a dress, and there are other matters to debate upon. Whereas a segment of the online community supports Saboor’s stance on this. Check out all the comments:
