Ozzy Osbourne, the icon of British heavy metal, was one of the most loved singers and songwriters. Lovingly called as the ‘Prince of Darkness’, Ozzy rose to prominence in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band, Black Sabbath. The global icon sold over 100 million albums, which included his solo work and songs from his band.
On July 5, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne performed his final show, bidding farewell to a career spanning five decades of live performances. Seventeen days after his last live performance, the legendary singer breathed his last at the age of 76. While the cause of this death remains undisclosed, the late singer had a history of suffering from Parkinson's disease.
Just like his tremendous career, Ozzy Osbourne’s married life too never ceased to make headlines. His married life with wife, Sharon Osbourne, often made headlines. The couple, who had a turbulent marriage, stayed together for 43 years with many highs and lows.
Ozzy and Sharon's love story dates back to 1970 when the two met for the first time. Sharon's father, Don Arden, was managing Ozzy's band Black Sabbath. In 1979, when Ozzy was fired from the band over substance abuse issues, it was Sharon who helped him recover from it. She not only became his manager, but the duo fell in love.
Ozzy was already married to Thelma Riley when he fell in love with Sharon. When Ozzy’s divorce from Thelma was finalised in 1982, he married Sharon in the same year. Ozzy and Sharon welcomed three children, their two daughters, Aimee and Kelly and a baby boy, Jack.

Ozzy Osbourne struggled really hard with substance abuse, and it affected his marriage the most. In 1989 he allegedly tried to kill his wife, Sharon. She claimed that the singer said to her, "I've decided you have to go", and then tried to strangle her. Sharon, who got scared, immediately called the police and had him arrested. However, she didn’t press charges against Ozzy. Soon, he was ordered to go to rehab.
In 2013, rumours started circulating that Izzy and Sharon were parting ways due to his drinking and substance abuse. However, the singer denied the rumours in a Facebook post. In May 2016, Ozzy and Sharon head for a split due to the singer’s infidelity. In the same year, Ozzy said that his relationship with Sharon was ‘back on track’.
Not only this, but Sharon also publicly forgave her husband during an episode of The Talk, stating that she would need some time to trust him again. After the public reconciliation, Ozzy’s former hairstylist, Michelle Pugh, confirmed that she and Ozzy had an affair for four years, which began in 2012.
After Ozzy and Sharon let the bygones be bygones, the couple renewed their vows in 2017. In an interview with The Telegraph, Sharon revealed that Ozzy had an extra-marital affair with six women, which also included his hairdresser, Michelle Pugh. She listed his affairs and stated that the singer had an affair with a Russian teenager, a masseuse in England, their personal masseuse in the USA and their cook.
Years later, Ozzy confessed to cheating on his wife with other women. In an interview with British GQ, Ozzy said:
“I've done some pretty outrageous things in my life. I regret cheating on my wife. I don't do it anymore. I got my reality check and I'm lucky she didn't leave me. I'm not proud of that. I was pissed off with myself. But I broke her heart."
Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne may have had a volatile marriage, but they loved each other immensely. Through the highs and lows, they never gave up in their marriage.
