Late Navy Officer, Vinay Narwal's Wife, Himanshi On Operation Sindoor, 'Naam Sahi Hai... Jaan Khoyi'

India served justice to the grieving 26 family members of the Pahalgam attack when, on May 7, 2025, between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM, Operation Sindoor was carried out. Within 25 minutes, India released 24 missiles, dissolved nine base camps, which were carried jointly by the Indian Army and Air Force. Now, Himanshi, the beloved wife of martyred Lieutenant Vinay, gave her views on the name of Operation Sindoor and reacted to the war. Himanshi could not thank the Modi government enough and also requested the government not to end the war and ensure that this was the start to end terrorism once and for all.

Himanshi Narwal says Operation Sindoor is a tribute to all the women who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam terror attack

It was just a few days to her marriage that Himanshi saw her husband, late Lt. Vinay, being killed in front of her eyes. Heartwrenching pictures of Himanshi sitting next to the body of her late husband wearing chooda surfaced on the internet and shook all. Speaking of India's befitting reply to Pakistan, via Operation Sindoor, Himanshi, in an interview with ANI shared that her husband was in the defence forces, and when he joined the defence forces, he wanted to protect peace in the country. He wanted to make sure that innocent lives are not lost in this country. He wanted to make sure that there is no hatred and terror in this country. Himanshi added:

"Mei toh ess naam se bahut zyada relate kar sakti hu because of the incident maine toh apni ek zindagi kho di hai. Aur shayad abhi kisi ko nai pata ki what I am going through and nobody can relate to it because it is just me who has gone through that. Yeh naam bahut sahi hai kyuki ess incident ke wajah se bahut aurto, behno. maa ne apni jaan khoyi hai. Apna ek hissa kho dia hai toh yeh naam ekdum sahi hai. I also hope ki aisa operation dubara karne ki situation na aaye kyuki aisa kuch dubara kisi aur ke saath kabhi na ho."

Himanshi also added that female officers can relate to what she and the others are going through, so it is a very good initiative, and in the future, she really hopes there is equality in the forces and every department in India between men and women.

Himanshi Narwal's father-in-law, Rajesh Narwal, talks on Operation Sindoor

Rajesh, who lost his son, Lt Vinay, welcomed India's power-packed response to the Pahalgam terror and revealed that terrorists would think 100 times before they would conduct such attacks in the distant future. He said that when this (Pahalgam) incident happened, even then the media came to his home and asked what he expected from the government. Rajesh said:

"My answer was that I had faith in our government. And today, the government has justified that trust. I had said that such a thing (retaliatory strikes) has to be done so that no one dares to do such a cowardly act again. The strikes carried out on the terror targets will resonate in their minds forever."

"And today, Modi ji and our Army have given them the answer. There is satisfaction that the Pahalgam attack has been avenged. But there is also deep sorrow — Vinay and the 26 others are no longer with us."
