Nithya Menen is one of the most popular actresses in the South Indian film industry. She is currently making headlines for her upcoming film, Thalaivan Thalaivii. In 2011, Nithya made her breakthrough with the Telugu film, Ala Modalaindi, co-starring Nani. However, when it comes to her personal life, Nithya prefers to keep it extremely private. In a recent interview, she shared her take on love, relationships and marriage. Nithya also revealed some lesser-known facts about her love life.
Recently, Nithya Menen appeared on The Ramya Show and spoke openly about love, relationships, and marriage. She shared that when she was younger, she thought it was very important to find a soulmate, but her idea of love changed over the years. She expressed that it is impossible for everybody to find love and get married. She also gave an example of renowned businessman, Ratan Tata, who was not married. In her words:
"The idea of love evolved for me through the years; it’s not a central theme of my life. When I was younger, it was so important to me to find my soulmate. Family, parents and society make you feel like it’s inevitable. I’ve understood now that you can live a different life. Otherwise, you feel like a failure. It’s impossible for everybody to find love and get married. Ratan Tata was not married. If it happens, great. If it doesn’t happen, also great. It doesn’t give me grief."
In an interview with SS Music, Nithya Menen revealed that she has been heartbroken many times in her past relationships. Every romantic relationship brought her pain. However, the past heartbreaks taught her lessons, and that is why she is currently single. In her words:
"I am so happy that life is an open path now. Every set notion has broken for me, freeing me up to live life. Everything is great and wonderful only when it’s for a good reason. I’ve been heartbroken every single time. It’s obviously why I am not with someone right now. All of that only teaches you about people’s intentions. You realise what you’re searching itself is wrong, you have to leave it."
In a past interview with News18, Nithya shared that she has no familial pressure to get married. She revealed that although her parents would love to see her dating someone, they will never force her to marry someone. The actress shared that earlier, when she was young and her grandmother was alive, she had pressure to get married. In her words:
"I'm beyond that now, and I don't think anyone can dictate what I should do. My parents have been incredibly supportive in that regard. There might be some basic expectations. If I’m with someone, they’ll be very happy and hope for it to progress. But they aren’t the kind of people who feel like I won’t be fine if I don’t have someone in my life. There was a pressure to get married when I was younger and when my grandmother was alive. She didn’t care about how big an actor I was. She would keep saying, ‘What are you doing? You’re doing nothing in life! Why can’t you get married?'"
