Nitanshi Goel Makes Stunning Cannes Debut At 17, Wears Kasab Embroidered Cage Gown For Red Carpet

Nitanshi Goel, a new star in the making, has already found her way to her fashionable debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, the most prestigious film festival in the world. After her stellar performance as ‘Phool’ in Kiran Rao's Oscar-nominee film, Laapataa Ladies, the 17-year-old actress has become a breakout star. Now, with her spectacular debut on the Cannes red carpet, Nitanshi is turning heads and winning hearts with her enchanting evening look.

On May 15, 2025, at Day 3 of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Nitanshi Goel graced the red carpet as she arrived for the screening of French crime drama, Dossier 137 (Case 137). The young actress looked elegant and fresh in her black and gold ensemble. For the evening look, Nitanshi looked breathtaking, dressed in a custom strapless black and gold gown by JADE by Monica and Karishma. 

Nitanshi’s custom cage gown was a designer masterpiece, blending kasab lace embroidery and delicate macrame detailing. It also featured a strapless neckline, a cinched corset bodice with gold floral motifs, and a dramatic mermaid-style silhouette frame flowing into a sheer tulle train. Describing the vision behind Nitanshi’s whimsical debut gown, designer Monica Shah was quoted by News18 as saying:

“For Nitanshi’s Cannes debut, we wanted to create something truly magical, a look that would capture the softness of her spirit and the sparkle in her eyes. Inspired by the idea of spring florals under the moonlight, her custom ensemble weaves together our signature kasab embroidery and delicate macrame detailing, bringing together heritage and whimsy in perfect harmony."

Nitanshi was styled by the celebrity duo, Sharey Vaishnav and Urja Amin, who did proper justice to her enchanting look. The actress was styled with minimal accessories, including a delicate gold swirl choker, serpent-design earrings, twisty finger rings, and high heels. Her sleek updo and soft glam makeup with flushed and glowing cheeks and glossy pink lips added stars to her look. At the red carpet, the young actress looked nothing short of a princess with the perfect balance of glam, elegance, and a mysterious allure.

Nitanshi Goel had already made waves at Cannes before her big red carpet debut, when she attended the India Pavilion inauguration in a dreamy ivory ensemble. She wore a custom pre-draped saree adorned with pearl embroidery and a unique hair accessory featuring miniature portraits of Bollywood legends like Madhubala, Rekha, Sridevi, and Hema Malini. Her ode to Bollywood icons on the international stage was a memorable moment, and the actress received immense praise for originality.

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious events in the global film industry, and even getting a close glance at it is an aspiration for all. For Nitanshi Goel, getting a chance to represent India at this event was incredibly special and emotional. Speaking to Brut from the red carpet, a visibly emotional Nitanshi said:
