April 14, 2022, had seen the biggest celebration in Bollywood as the Bhatts and the Kapoors had become a family with the fairytale wedding of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. After searching for places worldwide for a destination wedding, the couple had finally decided on an intimate ceremony at Ranbir’s Mumbai home, Vastu. The festivities had taken place in the presence of 40 close friends and family members. We had spotted Alia Batt’s nanad, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor beaming with joy at her wedding festivities.
Among all this, Alia Bhatt’s elegant white Sabyasachi saree had made the most hype on the internet. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress had ditched the usual red-coloured lehenga and had opted for an ivory saree. Alia had completed her look with a long veil and stone studded jewellery. On the other hand, her groom, Ranbir Kapoor had looked handsome in a matching sherwani.

In a recent conversation with India Today, Neetu Kapoor opened up about how she had planned a dance performance to surprise her bahu, Alia Bhatt at her wedding. She mentioned that it was her idea to do a surprise performance on Punjabi folk dance called ‘giddha’ and then add some more songs to it. Neetu can be quoted as saying:
“The wedding dance was all my idea, actually.” Neetu admitted that even though they did not have much time to prepare, they decided to pull this off with only a day’s practice. “I told everyone we should do something, even though the time is less. I had to do dancing, I told them. So we practiced whatever we could for a day. We even planned, me and Reema. We planned to do gidda, which is like a Punjabi traditional dance. We tried something new. We did gidda, then new songs and then Ranbir joined them. It was really fun.”
In the same interview, the doting mother-in-law revealed that she was indeed successful in surprising Alia Bhatt with her dance performance, as Alia had no idea there would be a dance performance. Neetu said that if she had more time on her hand, she would have made sure that everyone danced on her son, Ranbir Kapoor’s big day. In her words:

“Even Alia was surprised because she did not know we were going to do this. It was a surprise for her. It was very nice. If we had more time, I would have made sure everyone was there and everyone danced.”

Further, into the conversation, Neetu Kapoor bared her heart out and shared her happiness. She said that seeing Ranbir and Alia having fun together had really filled her heart with joy. She said:
“But this time we did whatever we could due to less time, but it was still nice. Both Ranbir and Alia had fun. I just felt happy knowing I made Alia happy.”
On the work front, Neetu Kapoor will be next seen in the film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo opposite Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani.
