Amid Tommaso Cioni Being In The Limelight, Here's The Abductor's Demanded Amount For Nancy's Return

Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, was last seen on January 31, 2026, at her home, and after that, no traces of her could be found. A search mission has been going on to find Nancy Guthrie, who has a fragile heart and needs to be on constant medication. On February 1, 2026, a missing file was launched, and more than 100 people are working on this case, including the FBI.

Amid the search going on, it was Nancy's son-in-law, Tommasco Cioni, who grabbed the attention. Now, Tommasco and his wife, Annie, have also been investigated. Two ransom notes were discovered, and while the search mission is going on, here's how much money the alleged abductor demanded in exchange for Nancy's safe return.

How much money has been demanded for Nancy Guthrie's safe return to her home? How skilled are the kidnappers?

Nancy Guthrie's kids, Savannah, Annie, and Camron Guthrie, released a video, wherein they revealed that they would pay the amount, but with the condition that they needed to be assured that their mom was with the sender of the note, and that she was safe and sound. The reason the family needed reassurance was that, in this current phase, photos and videos are easily manipulated.

Well, the initial note was sent to TMZ, following which a Southern California man was arrested. Following this, News13 also received a new text, wherein a demand was made with a deadline. Reportedly, the demanded amount from the alleged abductor was USD 6 million in Bitcoin. The deadline for the family to send the alleged amount had been set for February 9, 2026, 5 PM (ET). As per the authorities, the sender has some massive technical skills, which led him/her to send an encrypted email with a VPN, which is a skill that not many can have.

Apart from that, the alleged sender asked the payment to be made in Bitcoin, which reduces the chance for the investigators to track the sender down, given that money transactions wouldn't happen. Another thing is that since Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping, only two communications happened from the alleged abductor, so it further lessens the chances of investigation, given that communication is less. All these things led investigators to believe that the abductor is taking each of the steps with proper planning, as shared by an FBI special agent, Tracy Walder.

Why is Nancy Guthrie's son-in-law, Tommasco Cioni, in the spotlight?

For the unversed, it was a former journalist, Ashleigh Banfield, who said that alleged sources have revealed that Tommasco 'may be' a person of interest in the case of Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. The reason for the same was said to be the fact that Tommasco was the last person to see the author. Tommasco also reportedly got the ransom note, which claimed money in exchange for Nancy's return.

However, the journalist also added that it cannot be confirmed whether he was guilty, as in the initial stage of a search mission, the family members of the victims are investigated, but it is mostly due to queries. On the other hand, a search mission in Nancy's son-in-law, Tommasco's home has also been going on, with the questions about where he could be now.
