'Got A Call Late In Night From Ex-Wife..' Mukul Dev Once Recalled The Day His Daughter, Sia Was Born

Mukul Dev, one of the famous actors in the entertainment space, bid farewell to the world at the age of 54. The actor was all set to be back on the silver screens with the movie, Son Of Sardaar 2. Before the release of his movie, Mukul passed away. Reportedly, on May 23, 2025, his health deteriorated, and he breathed his last at the hospital, wherein he was admitted for 8 to 10 days.

Mukul Dev is survived by his daughter, who, according to his co-star, Vindu Dara Singh, wasn't living with him. For the unversed, Mukul got married to Shilpa, and they welcomed Sia. It was in 2005, when reportedly Mukul and his wife, Shilpa separated. Neither of them talked about each other in public and kept their lives private. Well, it was in an interview five years back that Mukul fondly talked about his daughter, Sia, whom he loved dearly.

In an interview with Eastern Eye back in 2020, Mukul Dev walked down memory lanes and recalled some of the best memories he would remember always. Talking about the same, Mukul recalled the day when his baby girl, Sia was born. The actor mentioned that it was on December 30, 2002, when his daughter was born. Mukul stated that he got a call from his ex-wife, Shilpa, at midnight about the same and flew down there from Delhi immediately. Mukul shared that the moment he held Sia in his arms, it just aced everything that had happened to him. In Mukul's words:

"The day my daughter was born, back in 2002, is etched in my memory. It was December 30 and I was in Delhi. I got a call late in the night from my ex-wife and flew down immediately. The next morning the moment when I held her in my arms just aces everything else that has happened to me."

In the same interview, Mukul Dev stated that he would never forget another moment when his daughter, Sia, got into the school for the first time ever. Mukul mentioned that his daughter got a chance in the Sriram school in Delhi. Mukul revealed being proud of his daughter, Sia, as he and his ex-wife, Shilpa thought their daughter would not be able to get a chance there, given that she was really young. Mukul then praised his daughter for her sheer IQ and said:

"I remember with pride the moment when my daughter was getting into the Sriram school in Delhi. It was a difficult thing. She passed with flying colours. She was still a young kid, so we were so worried if she would get it, but she did through her sheer IQ."

Mukul Dev and Shilpa's daughter, Sia was born back in 2002, and by now, she is 23 years old. It was back in 2022, when Mukul took to his IG handle and shared an adorable photo of Sia, to wish her on her birthday. He showered love on his daughter and cutely wished her. Mukul Dev's Son Of Sardaar co-star, Vindu Dara Singh, in an interview with ETimes, revealed that the actor's daughter used not to live with him.

As per him, Mukul suffered from loneliness. On the other hand, earlier a report by India Forums, dated back several years ago revealed that Mukul and Shilpa might have split due to trivial issues and neither party could be blamed for the same. The statement was reportedly given by a resident of the late actor's then building, who also shared that Mukul would often go to Delhi to meet Sia.

One thing is assured: Mukul used to love his daughter, Sia, dearly!
