The Indian film and television industry has been stunned by the sudden demise of actor, Mukul Dev at the age of 54. Known for working in films across multiple genres, Mukul had craved a separate identity for himself. He worked in films like Son Of Sardaar and R…Rajkumar, along with TV shows, while living a low-key personal life. As per multiple news reports, the actor was hospitalised for a week before he passed away peacefully. Amid all this, several fans went back to Mukul Dev's Instagram handle and his last post related to his passion has created a new discussion on the internet.
Apart from acting, Mukul Dev was equally passionate about aviation. It never left him, and his last Instagram post was about the same. It featured a video taken from above the clouds, probably when the actor was flying a private plane in peace. It showcased thick clouds until the horizon. The actor chose to play a karaoke version of a song from Pink Floyd's iconic album, The Dark Side of the Moon in the background. Sharing the video, he penned:
"And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too…. I'll see you on the dark side of the moon."
For those unaware, the caption is a part of the song, Brain Damage's lyrics. However, it was shared long back on February 26, 2025. After the news about Mukul's demise went public, several fans went back to the post and shared their wishes for the late actor. One netizen penned, "Very sad to hear you are gone so soon and so young. RIP. Mukul Dev." Another user commented, "God bless you in heaven."

For those unaware, before pursuing a career in acting, Mukul Dev took aviation training from the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Akademi located in Raebareli. As a certified commercial pilot, he even worked in the same profession for ten years and ran an aeronautical training institute to help young enthusiasts fulfil their dream of flying. In a previous interview with Eastern Eye, the actor opened up about his passion for flying and mentioned that earning a scholarship to be a commercial pilot was like a dream come true moment for him. He said:
"I was a pilot before I became an actor. So, I will never forget clearing my flying academy exams and getting a scholarship to become a commercial pilot. I could not have asked for anything better."
Mukul Dev was born on September 17, 1970, in New Delhi. Not much is known about his family except that he was the brother of popular actor, Rahul Dev. He stepped into acting in 1996 by being a part of the TV show, Mumkin and made his film debut with Dastak, co-starring Sushmita Sen. Over decades, he has delivered memorable performances with films like Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R... Rajkumar, and Jai Ho.
