Mukul Dev's 'Son Of Sardar' Co-Star, Vindu Dara Shares He Suffered From Loneliness, 'His Daughter..'

The entire Hindi film industry is mourning the demise of Mukul Dev. For the unversed, on May 23, 2025, Mukul Dev bid farewell to the world at the mere age of 54. The demise of the actor at such a young age has left the entire Hindi film industry hurt. Mukul Dev's brother, Rahul took to his IG handle and shared the news about his brother's demise. Now, Mukul's Son Of Sardar co-star, Vindu Dara talked about the former, and revealed that he suffered from loneliness.

The exact reason for Mukul Dev's demise isn't known yet, but as per reports, he was unwell for 8-10 days, and was hospitalised. Reportedly, it was on May 23, 2025, when his health deteriorated and he passed away. After the news was circulated, the entire film industry mourned his demise. In an interview with ETimes, Vindu Dara Singh shared that Mukul didn't suffer from any disease, but he was suffering from loneliness.

Vindu also stated that Mukul would consume alcohol and gutka, and had become overweight. The actor also shared that Mukul has a daughter, but she wasn't staying with him. Mukul was all set to make a comeback with Son Of Sardar 2, but he won't be here to witness his work on the silver screens. In another interview with the SCREEN, Vindu shared that Mukul was in depression after his mom's demise, and he could never let that go as he was really close to his parents. Vindu Dara could be quoted as saying:

"He had become overweight and he battled loneliness. He has a daughter but she is also, she was not staying with him. He was making his comeback with Son of Sardar but the sad part is he won't be there to see it. It is very tragic news."

In the same interview, Vindu Dara revealed that Mukul Dev had performed fantastically in Son Of Sardar 2, wherein his character's name was 'Tony' while Vindu's name was 'Tito'. He also added that his portrayal in the movie would leave people rolling on the floor laughing, but it's tragic that he wouldn't be around to witness the same. In Vindu Dara's words:

"He has done such fantastic work in SOS 2. He was my Tony and I was his Tito. He had an amazing role and people are going to roll on the floor laughing after seeing his work in July when the film releases. But unfortunately, he will not be around to enjoy the success and see the love."

Mukul Dev is a famous face in the entertainment space. He was born in New Delhi into a Punjabi family. Mukul's interest in the acting world began at a young age. He received his first paycheck at the age of 8 when he impersonated Michael Jackson for a dance show on Doordarshan. He began his career in 1996 with the TV serial, Mumkin.

Apart from that, Mukul worked in Doordarshan's Ek Se Badh Kar Ek, Kahin Diyaa Jale Kahin Jiyaa, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Pyar Zindagi Hai. He also worked in Bollywood films including Son Of Sardar, R... Rajkumar, Jai Ho and Yamla Pagla Deewana, among others. He also received the 7th Amrish Puri Award for his mettle in acting in the movie, Yamla Pagla Deewana. Not only he was an actor, but also he was a trained pilot. His brother, Rahul Dev, a while ago, took to his IG handle and shared the news of his demise. On his IG story, Rahul penned that Mukul passed away last night, and was survived by his daughter, Sia, and was missed by his siblings and nephew.
