Miles Teller is an American actor who is known for his versatility across drama, comedy, and action films. The actor made his debut in 2010 with the feature film Rabbit Hole and immediately drew attention for his acting. His breakthrough came 3 years later with The Spectacular Now, which cemented his status as one of Hollywood's most prolific actors.
Currently, Miles Teller is leading the headlines as he appeared as the host of Saturday Night Live. This marked his second time hosting NBC's sketch comedy series. On the show, he promoted his upcoming film, Eternity, in which he will star alongside Elizabeth Olsen. Brandie Carlie also joined Miles Teller on SNL. Amid this, let's look back at the time, when, back in 2007, Miles Teller survived a major car crash, even before his career took off.
SNL host, Miles Teller was only 20 years old when he faced a major car accident. It happened back in 2007, and, in an interview with Peter Travers for ABC News, Miles Teller revealed that his friend had just lost control of his car while driving at 80 mph. The actor recalled the horrific incident, when the car flipped 8 times, and he was ejected out of the window. Teller revealed that when the car landed, he was almost 50 feet away from the car, covered in blood, which prompted his friend to assume that he had died. Recalling the incident, Miles Teller shared:
"My buddy lost control of my car going 80 mph. We flipped eight times. I got ejected out the window. The car landed, and I was just lying 50 feet from the car, unconscious, covered in blood. My buddy thought I was dead."
The accident left Miles Teller with a whole lot of facial scars, and doctors suggested that removing the rocks from his face would have the chance to leave him with more scars on his face. He sat for the interview back in 2016, with two stones still left on his face. Teller had to endure painful laser treatment for 3-4 years to get rid of the scars on his face.
Talking more about the same, Miles Teller revealed that when he used to go for auditions, people would appriciate his acting skills, but because of the scars on his face, he would often lose out on opportunities. Well, it was the director of Rabbit Hole, who actually felt the scars had something to reveal and some secret. Later, Miles Teller played several roles in other movies that featured car crash scenes as well. Miles Teller could be quoted as saying:
"When I first started auditioning, people were straight up just like, 'Yeah, Miles is a good actor, [but it] doesn't make sense for this character to have scars'. They [the scars] used to be really bad. And then 'Rabbit Hole' [film director] John Cameron Mitchell was like, 'I love it. It tells a secret.'"
