Anurag Basu's Metro..In Dino was released on July 4, 2025, which deals with the urban love story of cities like Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune and Delhi. The sequel of Life In A...Metro, Metro...In Dino, received widespread praise. The movie weaves four interconnected love stories and features a stellar star cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Pankaj Tripathi.
Each of the actors showcased their acting prowess in the movie and won hearts with the same. Well, if the reports are to be believed, the movie was made on a budget of Rs. 100 crore. While the movie is making waves in hearts with a soft-soul love story, let's learn who among the actors got the highest paycheck for essaying a role in the movie. It was also speculated that the budget was Rs. 85 crore, and Rs. 40 crore was already recovered through digital rights. Reportedly, Aditya Roy Kapur was the highest-paid actor in the movie, who got a salary of Rs. 5-6 crore for his role 'Parth' in the movie.
Talking about Sara Ali Khan, she was reportedly paid an amount of Rs. 3 crore for the movie. Pankaj Tripathi reportedly received a salary of Rs. 4 crore, while Anupam Kher's alleged salary was between Rs. 3-4 crore. While Neena Gupta and Ali Fazal's salaries were reportedly in the range of Rs. 1 crore, Konkona Sen Sharma was reportedly paid between Rs. 75 lakh and Rs. 1 crore, and Fatima's salary was also allegedly in the same scale.
While the movie's budget has not been confirmed yet, the average of Rs. 85 crore suggests that the Day 1 collection has been pretty good. While Life In A..Metro, which was opened at Rs. 0.80 lakh in 2007, ended with a domestic valuation of Rs. 24 crore. Talking about Metro...In Dino, reportedly, it opened on a budget of Rs. 3.35 crore on Day 1. Reportedly, more than 81,700 tickets were sold, surpassing 11 other Hindi film releases, which predicts a good overall result. Talking about the reviewers, the film has been loved by many, and Sara Ali Khan has been receiving much praise for her role in the movie.
In an interview with News18, Anurag Basu shared that when he first started writing the story three to four years back, he was mainly taking forward Irrfan Khan and Kankona Sen Sharma's storyline from Life In A...Metro, but later he got busy with other projects, and thus, when he returned to the project again, and re-read the script, the core idea of the movie remained the same. Since Kankona's role was in his mind from the beginning, she was the first one to be approached in the film to reprise her role.
