Metro In Dino First Look: Anurag Basu's Multi-Starrer Offers Fresh Take On Modern Love And City Life

Anurag Basu is one of the most admired filmmakers in Bollywood who is credited for films like Barfi, Gangster and Jagga Jasoos. Needless to say, after delivering such wonderful films, fans were eagerly waiting for his upcoming film, Metro In Dino, which is a sequel to his 2007 film, Life In A Metro. However, the film's release was delayed multiple times. But the extended wait has come to an end as he has finally released the first look of the upcoming film, Metro In Dino, which presents a modern take on love and relationships through the teaser of its first song, Zamaana Lage. The unique theme of the film and talented actors have already set the expectations bar high, so let's know if the first look is the right step in that direction or not.

Metro In Dino first look: Aditya Roy Kapur starrer promises an emotional ride 

Unlike conventional love stories, which have taken centre stage in Bollywood, Metro In Dino, with its multistarrer cast, showcases a contemporary take on love in busy city life. The film features an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta and more. Each actor plays a character with a different personality than the rest, and the film promises to explore different shades of love, heartbreak and hope through them. In the first look, we get to see a glimpse of the layered characters in the film as Aditya and Sara stand before a passing train, lost in thoughts. Its opening words read:

"The city has changed, and so have the stories."

Following that, Aditya's character is seen enjoying the peace of the mountains, while Sara Ali Khan seems to play a vibrant girl who enjoys city life through a car's roof window. Meanwhile, Ali Fazal plays the role of an emotional singer with Fatima Sana Shaikh playing his love interest. Metro In Dino also showcases Konkana Sen Sharma, who was a part of the previous film. This time she is paired with Pankaj Tripathi. The film also stars, Anupam Kher, Saswata Chatterjee and Neena Gupta.

Metro In Dino's Zamaana Lage brings back the charm of original compositions from the 2000s 

In recent years, Bollywood has created a lot of renditions and remakes of iconic songs from the past. But the teaser of Metro In Dino's first song, Zamaana Lage, in the voice of Arijit Singh and Shashwat Singh, is a promising original composition which brings back Anurag's signature music style. With a blend of realism and heartfelt storytelling, the song seems to embody the feelings of Millenials And Gen Z, who form quick connections with deep emotions. The song and the whole album of the film are composed by Pritam. Metro In Dino will be released in theatres on July 4, 2025.

One of the most significant aspects of Life In A Metro was the chartbuster songs delivered by Pritam and Anurag Basu.
