The whole nation is currently in shock after the news of the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, came out in public. For the unversed, on May 11, 2025, Raja started a new chapter in his life with his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi. However, their honeymoon trip has become a deadly encounter. After a massive search operation, Meghalaya police claimed that Raja was murdered by 3 hired killers, and the murder plotting was done by his wife, Sonam. Now, we came across a video, where Sonam is being questioned regarding the murder case, but the accused gave no reaction.
A video of Sonam Raghuvanshi surfaced online, when she was initially captivated by the Meghalaya police in connection to her husband, Raja’s murder. In the video, Sonam was seen wearing a black t-shirt and black track pants and was sitting on a chair. While the police interrogated her, she remained silent. At the same time, according to a report by CNN News18 report, Sonam gave her first statement in connection to Raja’s murder case. She claimed that she is not the accused, but a victim in the murder case. Sonam stated that she was abducted. In her words:
"I was abducted, abandoned in Ghazipur."
According to a report by ANI, Sonam Raghuvanshi’s father, Devi Singh, defended his daughter, Sonam and accused the Meghalaya government of lying. Speaking to ANI, Devi said that his daughter called his son, Govind, after reaching a dhaba in Ghazipur. The father of the accused also made an appeal to Home Minister, Amit Shah to initiate a CBI probe into the murder case. Devi was quoted as saying:
"My daughter is innocent. I have trust in my daughter. She cannot do this. They got married with the consent of both families. The state (Meghalaya) Government has been lying from the beginning. My daughter reached Ghazipur on her own. She was not arrested in Meghalaya. Meghalaya Police is making up stories. Let the CBI inquiry begin, all officers at the police station (in Meghalaya) will be behind bars. Sonam called her brother, Govind, who informed me that Sonam has been found at a dhaba in Ghazipur."
