Tovino Thomas quits his corporate job for films

Tovino was born on January 21, 1989, in the Irinjalakuda town in Thrissur district, Kerala. He is one of the three children of Sheela and Adv. E. Thomas, and is the youngest son in the house. Tovino did his primary schooling at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda and completed his secondary schooling at St Mary's Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda.

The actor graduated from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore, with a degree in electronics and communication engineering. Before embarking on the journey as an actor, Tovino Thomas worked as a software engineer at Cognizant Technologies. In 2012, alongside his debut, Tovino also worked as an assistant director in Roopesh Peethambaran's directional debut, Theevram.

After his debut, Tovino did some more films till 2015, but the movies failed to impress the audience. Then magic happened with the film, Ennu Ninte Moideen in 2015. In 2021, the Kerala government announced Tovino as an ambassador of Samoohika Sannadhasena, a community volunteer program launched to tackle natural disasters and provide aid in times of crisis. For the unversed, in 2018, the actor volunteered during the Kerala floods. He was also praised by Kerala’s chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, for this noble cause, as this work influenced the youth to come forward and join the community volunteer program.

The marriage ceremony was held at St. Thomas Cathedral, Irinjalakuda, Kerala. Later, in 2016 and 2022, Tovino and Lidiya welcomed their two children, a daughter and a son, respectively.

Tovino also owns a lavish house in Thrissur, Kerala. The actor has an impressive collection of luxury cars, including Audi Q7, BMW 7 Series and Honda City.
