One of the most beloved reality TV shows, Dancing With The Stars, is set to return to screens with the premiere of its 34th season on September 16, 2025. A list of contestants has recently been released, with sports celebrities, influencers, reality TV stars and more. Among these participants, there has been a lot of curiosity for the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, Jennifer 'Jen' Affleck. Here's everything to know about her.
Jen Affleck rose to fame with the series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
Jen Affleck was born on May 29, 1999, to an Ecuadorian mother. She grew up primarily speaking Spanish and dancing to Latin music. Hence, although Jen might not have been professionally trained before participating in DWTS, thanks to her upbringing, she has a good sense of rhythm and is also known for creative steps in her TikTok videos. Before joining the Hulu series Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Jen was a content creator who started posting videos showcasing her lifestyle and motherhood journey to support her family while her husband, Zac Affleck, was in medical school.
As a contestant on the Hulu show, Jen became a fan favourite among viewers due to her authentic personality and courage to challenge stereotypes. Apart from that, Jen's willingness to discuss mental health also brought a fresh perspective to the show. Interestingly, in DWTS, Jen will also be competing against Whitney Leavitt, another star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Talking to TV Insider about both of them participating in the same show again, Whitney shared:
“I didn’t sign up just to let Jen out-cha-cha me on national television! Truthfully, having her here pushes me to bring my A-game, and I know she feels the same. We both want to crush it, and there’s something about dancing next to someone you know that makes you work a little harder. We’re definitely going to push each other, but we’ll also be each other’s biggest cheerleaders.”
Jen Affleck's family life with husband, Zac Affleck
Jen and her husband, Zac, met on a dating app called Mutual in 2018. After dating each other for a year, the two tied the knot in 2018. They are parents to three children, Nora, Lucas, and Penelope. Their youngest daughter, whom they lovingly call 'Penny', was born in July 2025. And just two months after her birth, Jen has bravely taken on the challenge of competing in a dance show and undergoing rigorous practice. However, this isn't the influencer has undertaken a gruelling challenge after going through the hardships of labour. Three months after her son, Lucas, was born, Jen participated in a marathon. Hence, she is sure that this time around, as well, her post-partum condition isn't going to hinder her. Showcasing her determination, Jen had shared with Decider:
“It’s a lot different than dancing on your countertops. But I’m having so much fun. With my second, I actually ran the New York City Marathon three months postpartum. I knew if I could do that, I can totally do this.”

Jan Ravnik has been a popular face among Taylor Swift fans as he was often seen dancing with the pop star during her Eras Tour. There was also a lot of speculation as to which celebrity would get the opportunity to dance with the celebrity choreographer. Along with announcing the contestants for DWTS season 34, the makers also revealed that Jan has been partnered with Jen Affleck to compete together for the Mirrorball Trophy. Jen expressed her excitement about performing with the dancer and said:
“I’m so excited. I had no expectations going into it. I was like, ‘You know what? Whoever I’m supposed to be partnered with, it’s meant to be'.”
