The sudden demise of Mannara Chopra’s dad, Raman Rai Handa, has left the Handa and Chopra families heartbroken. For the unversed, on June 16, 2025, actress, Mannara Chopra’s father, Raman, a renowned advocate at Delhi High Court, reportedly passed away due to age-related ailments. It was Raman’s elder daughter, Mannara who first shared the disheartening news about her father’s death. Now, Meera Chopra has reacted to the sudden demise of Raman.
When the tragic news of Raman Rai Handa’s death was made public, Meera Chopra was reportedly attending a promotional event. In a brief conversation with Instant Bollywood, Mannara’s cousin and actress shared that she was quite shocked to hear the news. The actress shared that she knew that Mannara’s dad was in the hospital, but the exact reason for his death is unknown to her. She also mentioned that Raman and his family, including his wife, Kamini Chopra and two daughters, Mannara and Mitali, shared a close bond with each other. In her words:
"I know, maybe when I was inside the event, Vicky told me… I knew he was in the hospital. Vicky told me that he has died. I don’t know... I don’t know. He was fine, so I don’t know what exactly happened. I think I’m going to go and find out, but it’s very sad. I think losing a parent—nothing can be worse than that. I know Mannara and Mitali were very close to him. It was a very close-knit family—two daughters and mom and dad—so yeah, it’s sad."
Taking to her Instagram Stories, on June 16, 2025, Mannara shared that her dad, Raman Rai Handa, has passed away. She also shared an update about her father’s last rites. As per her IG Stories, Raman’s last rites will be performed on June 18, 2025, at 1 pm in Andheri West, Mumbai. For the unversed, Mannara’s dad was a reputed advocate at Delhi High Court and was married to Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra’s paternal aunt, Kamini Chopra. Raman Rai Handa is survived by his wife, Kamini and two daughters, Mannara and Mitali. As per a report by Money Control, Raman’s health was not well for the past few days, and he passed away due to some age-related health issues. Sharing the news of the sudden demise of her dad, Mannara wrote:
"Adv. Raman Rai Handa. 25/09/1953 - 16/06/2025. With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father, who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/June/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family."
Just like her cousins, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, and Meera Chopra, Mannara also belong to the same profession. She started her career in modelling after completing her education. Later she shifted to appear in commercial ads and acted in 40 commercial ads. Before making her debut in films, Mannara also worked as a fashion designer and as an assistant dance choreographer. It was in 2014, when she made her debut in films with the Tamil movie, Prema Geema Jantha Nai. She also appeared in some Hindi movies. Mannara also made her appearance in TV shows, including Bigg Boss 17, Dance Deewane 14, and Laughter Chefs – Unlimited Entertainment.
