TMC's Mahua Moitra Marries BJD Leader, Pinaki Misra In Germany, Looks Gorgeous In Gold-Pink Saree

Trinamool Congress's Mahua Moitra has been one of the boldest voices from the political party in parliament and press conferences. Known for her straightforward and fierce attitude, she often makes the headlines with her speeches and political stance on critical matters. However, the politician is now in the headlines for a completely different reason related to her personal life. In a surprising update, Mahua has tied the knot with senior advocate and Biju Janata Dal's Pinaki Misra in a quiet ceremony held in Germany.

Mahua Moitra ties the knot with Pinaki Misra in a hush-hush ceremony in Germany 

Mahua Moitra and Pinaki Misra's wedding news has come as a surprise to many, especially in the political circles who didn't expect a political crossover like theirs. Mahua and Pinaki have been in the political sphere for a long time now, and they have created strong identities for themselves. The couple have an age difference of about 15 years. A source from TMC confirmed to the Times of India that the wedding took place in Germany a few days ago.

A photo reportedly from their wedding has surfaced on the internet where Mahua is seen holding hands with Pinaki in elegant outfits. In the picture, Mahua radiated a glow in a golden and pink-hued saree, while Pinaki kept it classic in a white kurta and jacket. However, neither of the two nor their political parties shared any official statement on the news. For those unaware, Mahua was earlier married to Danish financier,  Lars Brorson. However, the two filed for divorce.

Mahua Moitra was born in Assam and pursued a career as an investment banker before deciding to make her way into the world of politics. The 50-year-old politician joined the TMC back in 2010 and has been considered a close aide of TMC supremo, Mamata Banerjee. She became the Member of Parliament from Krishnanagar in 2019 and 2024. Apart from delivering fiery speeches, she has also been in the limelight for her controversial statements. 

On the other hand, Pinaki Misra had a long and respectful career in law and politics. He pursued his graduation in History and went on to study law. He was a senior advocate in the Supreme Court for several years and initially became an MP from Puri in 1996. However, Pinaki later joined BJD and won back-to-back terms from 2009 to 2019. The politician's respectful career has earned him a position in top committees of the Parliament.
