The action-specialist will once again be seen amidst guns, fist fights and high-octane drama in the upcoming Tamil-language movie, Madharaasi. The movie's trailer was released on August 24, 2025, teasing both the main and subplots, and giving a glimpse of the roles of the main cast.

Madharaasi features Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasant and Vidyut Jammwal in lead roles. The trailer opens with a voiceover of Rukmini's character, 'Malathy', saying, "Love others the way you love yourself. Consider everyone your family. This is what all religions and Gods preach." The tense music in the background symbolises the ensuing chaos that the rest of the video includes.

Sivakarthikeyan is a fierce action hero and a sweet lover boy in Madharaasi

Sivakarthikeyan's character, 'Raghu', is the protagonist of the story, who has two sides to him. In the 2-minute 17-second trailer, we see his romantic side as he sings and plays the guitar for his beloved 'Malathy'. They depict young love through intimate moments, grooving in clubs, and taking scooter rides across the city. The duo even meets up with the families, indicating a serious relationship and thoughts of marriage. This was one side of 'Raghu's' life; the other includes guns, explosions, and fighting for justice.

'Raghu's' physical condition might wreck his mission

'Raghu' has a rare psychological condition and is protective of his girlfriend. After a city-shaking explosion, he confronts the responsible forces and faces extreme circumstances to protect her. We get a better understanding of 'Raghu's' character as a doctor in the trailer says, “If his ['Raghu's'] brain decided to do something, he will go to extreme to do it." In the trailer, we see him getting a call, wherein his enemies reveal that they have abducted his ladylove, 'Malathy', and threaten to sexually violate her and kill her. After a chilling silence, 'Raghu' warns them, "Touch her if you dare!"

Sivakarthikeyan vs Vidhyut Jammwal: The ultimate showdown

Vidhyut Jammwal plays the role of the antagonist in Madharaasi. His ruthless nature and his dialogue, "No matter who holds the gun, I'm always the villain," give a sneak peek into his character. It showcases his thought process and his tendency to justify his violent acts with illogical explanations. Although not much of his scheming ways are revealed, the trailer hints at a thrilling final showdown between him and 'Raghu'.
