Lance Bass and Michael Turchin have a truly sweet love story. The duo met back in 2011 at one of their friends' birthday parties, and following this, they started hanging out as friends. It was Turchin who revealed to PEOPLE that they first kept things platonic and went out as friends only. Well, Turchin, being shy, couldn't take things forward, even though he wanted to.
Turchin revealed to PEOPLE that he was intimidated by the fact that Bass was a celebrity whom he had seen on TV while growing up, so all of this didn't let him take the first move. Bass, on the other hand, thought that Turchin was not into him, while he was attracted to the latter. Bass kept focusing on strengthening their friendship, thinking the romantic angle wouldn't happen. He told to PEOPLE:

"I was attracted to him and wanted things to go further, but I was convinced he wasn’t into me ... So I focused on becoming such good friends that I wouldn't be able to look at him in any other way. We spent every day together for a month before I did it, but I finally went in for that first kiss."
Well, when two people are meant to be together, it just happens, and so was the case with Turchin and Bass. It was in the following days that Bass took the first step and kissed Turchin, which was the beginning of their love story. Turchin described their bond as being really organic and strong. Talking more about the same, Turchin told PEOPLE:
"It was just so organic and not a forced situation. We just knew each other so well by the time we got to that point. We had a great foundation to build upon."
It was in 2013, after dating for two years, that Lance Bass proposed to Michael Turchin. Well, not once, but rather, the singer proposed to the man of his dreams twice. Exactly one year after his first proposal, Bass popped the question to Turchin again, this time with a gold and black ring. Sharing the photo on social media, Turchin praised his fiance and wrote:
"Who gets proposed to a second time on the first anniversary of the first proposal?? This guy!!!"
Lance Bass and Michael Turchin got married in December 2014 at the Park Plaza Hotel in LA. Their wedding was televised by E! under the name of Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding. The couple's wedding was planned by Sharon Sacks, and the guests were asked to dress as if they attended a 'royal wedding at a Met Ball'. In their wedding vows, the couple wrote some sweet words for one another. While Turchin said no one could make him laugh more than Lance, the latter shared that his beau just fits into his crazy life so perfectly, and they are just best of friends.
In 2021, Lance Bass and Michael Turchin welcomed twins via surrogacy, whom they named Violet Betty and Alexander James. The proud dads of Violet and Alexander often share glimpses of the little ones on their social media.
