Lamar Odom's Dating History, From Marriage With Khloe Kardashian To Engagement With Sabrina Parr

Lamar Odom is one of the most famous American former professional basketball players. His professional career began back in 1999 when he was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers during the NBA draft that year. In 2003, Lamar went on to play for the Miami Heat. Compared to his time with the Clippers, Lamar had a way more solid season here. In 2004, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. He played for the longest with the Lakers, up until 2011. Later, he also played for the Dallas Mavericks till 2012.  

While Lamar's professional career has always kept him in the spotlight, at present, he is grabbing attention for his docuseries, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom. For the unversed, the series was released on March 31, 2026. It explores the infamous incident which nearly cost Lamar his life. To mention, with the release of the docuseries, people have also become curious about his personal life. So, without further ado, let's take a look at Lamar Odom's dating history over the years. 

Lamar Odom dated Liza Morales, his teenage sweetheart, for 10 years 

Lamar Odom was in a long-term relationship with Liza Morales. If the reports are true, Liza was his teenage sweetheart, and the duo dated for about 10 years before they called it quits around 2006. In their time together, Lamar and Liza had welcomed two children, Destiny and Lamar Odom Jr. In a September 2019 interview with US Weekly, Liza revealed that they had gone through a rocky stage. 

But after the incident in Vegas, where Lamar came close to dying, Liza said that when it came to their relationship and then coparenting, she had to forgive him and have more empathy for him. Coming to his legacy, Liza said that Lamar knew it had been hard on their son. But despite this, their relationship is good. She added that he loves his kids, and they love him back in return. However, she acknowledged that it definitely hasn't been an easy road for them as a family.  

Lamar Odom had a brief relationship with the Hidden Figures actress, Taraji P. Henson  

In 2009, Lamar Odom started dating the Hidden Figures actress, Taraji P. Henson. While appearing on the TV One series, Uncensored, Lamar shared never-before-heard details about their relationship. Apparently, he met Taraji for the first time at an HBO party. There, they hit it off right away, and Lamar confessed that he started liking her a lot. He even praised her, saying that his relationship with Taraji was “the most significant” he had ever had with a Black woman. In his words: 

“I used to carry her picture on the road with me, nobody know that. She gave me inspiration, you know... a Black woman working like that, that is just as good as her craft that I'm as good as mine.” 

However, their relationship did not last for long as Lamar swiftly moved on to dating Khloe Kardashian. Years later, in June 2022, Lamar opened up about the differences between the two women. He said that compared to Khloe, Taraji is way more skilful in what she does as an actress. He even called her a cool girl and said that he might shoot his shot at her again.  

Lamar Odom married Khloe Kardashian one month after they began dating 

According to US Weekly, Lamar and Khloe Kardashian first met at a party in 2009. Soon after they started dating, Lamar and Khloe tied the knot. After 4 years of marital bliss, Khloe decided to file for divorce in 2013. However, their divorce came a few years later.  

For those unaware, in October 2015, Lamar was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital after he suffered an accidental overdose at the Love Ranch brothel. Not only did Khloe rush to his side at the time, but she also made the decision to withdraw their pending divorce papers in an effort to take care of him for the time being. In a February 2022 interview, Lamar confessed that when he came out of a coma, Khloe took care of him. He added, “I'm talking about a woman that wiped my backside when I couldn't do it myself." Her taking care of him in the hospital at the time made him fond of her.

Lamar and Khole's divorce was later finalised in December 2016. It is worth noting that after their split, Lamar has sent the Good American founder a few flirty Instagram comments. During an appearance on SiriusXM's Radio Andy in May 2021, he even said that he misses the Kardashian family tremendously.  

Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr were engaged for a year  

Lamar Odom and fitness trainer, Sabrina Paar went public with their relationship back in August 2019. This was just three months after the pair were spotted together in Atlanta. They got engaged in November of the same year. However, just a year later, in November 2020, Lamar and Sabrina split up. At the time, Sabrina took to her social media to say it had been a difficult decision, but she believed ending their engagement was the best choice for herself and her children. She went on to suggest that Lamar needs to work on certain things in the future. In her words: 

“Lamar has some things that he alone has to work through. I love him dearly, but I am no longer able to be by his side while he seeks the help he so desperately needs. I wish him all the best, and I am asking that you pray for everyone involved.”
