Lakshmi Menon was born back in 1996 to her Malayali parents. Her father is a Dubai-based artist, while her mom is a teacher. Lakshmi began her schooling at Bhavan's Munshi Vidyashram school in Thrippunithura. Following this, she took admission to Sacred Heart College, Kochi, from which she earned her undergraduate degree in English Literature. Lakshmi also has a Diploma in Bharatanatyam from Reva University. Well, her career in the glamour world began when she was in her 8th standard, when she played a supporting role in the Malayalam film, Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya.

Lakshmi Menon later bagged the lead role in the movie, Ideal Couple, alongside Vineeth. In 2012, the actress made her Tamil debut with the movie Sundara Pandian. Following this, she continued to work in several other films, such as Kumki, Kutti Puli, and Pandianadu, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Manja Pye, Jigarthanda, Komban, Vedalam. In 2016, she appeared in the films Miruthan, starring Jayam Ravi, and Rekka, alongside Vijay Sethupathi.

After this, Lakshmi took a long break of 5 years, and later made a comeback with the movie, Pulikkuthi Pandi in 2021. In 2022, she acted in AGP Schizophrenia, while in 2023, she appeared in the movie Chandramukhi 2, but failed to deliver the charm. However, she was most recently seen in Sabdham, where she played the role of a professor and garnered attention with her compelling performance.

While Lakshmi Menon took a long break from her acting career, her fans remembered her throughout the years, wondering when she would return. She was once asked about the reason for her decision to stay away from the glamorous world and take on fewer projects. To this, Lakshmi replied that she was just tired of playing the role of a village girl in the movies. She also reportedly said that it was her mom who asked her to do the same and be a better version of herself.

What's the controversy around Lakshmi Menon? She allegedly kidnapped an IT professional

A complaint has been lodged with the Ernakulam North Police that Lakshmi and her friends had a fight with another group of youths, and following this, one from the second group was taken out of his car, and then beaten and abandoned on the road. Reportedly, it was last Sunday when the actress, along with her friends, arrived at a bar, where a brawl broke out between her group and another group of youths, lasting for one hour.

Following this, the IT professional, who lodged the complaint, took away his friends, and as they were driving their car, the actress's group reportedly stopped them on the North Bridge, as shared by the complainant. The IT professional was dragged from his car, beaten, and abandoned on the road, while he accused the actress of assaulting and abusing him. The police had shared that two accused had been arrested, while the actress is currently on the run. According to the officials, her phone has been off for a while now.
