Barun Sobti has finally returned with season 2 of the crime thriller show, Kohrra 2, but this time along with Mona Singh. The show, which first began in 2023, was released on February 11, 2026, on the OTT giant, Netflix. After the success of Kohrra season 1, the makers have returned with yet another powerful, spine-chilling and emotional case, which is generating a lot of buzz online. Amid that, continue reading to know the review of Kohrra season 2, directed by Sudip Sharma and Faisal Rahman.
The show, Kohrra 2, opens in a town in Punjab. The season revolves around the brutal muder of 'Preet Bajwa' (Pooja Bhamrrah), an NRI social media influencer. Her body is found in her brother, 'Baljinder Atwal's' barn. However, slowly and gradually, police discovered that 'Preet' herself was a complex person. She had a complex relationship with her family, her estranged husband (Rannvijay Singha) and boyfriend (Vikhyat Gulati).

Assistant Sub-Inspector, 'Amarpal Garundi' (Barun Sobti) and 'Dhanwant Kaur' (Mona Singh) start investigating the case.Parallel to this, the show also focuses on a young migrant worker from Jharkhand, who searches for his father. His father went missing nearly two decades ago. This subplot adds another layer to the show. While it might seem unnecessary in the beginning, viewers soon realise the importance of the subplot and its connection in the main case of 'Preet's' murder.

One of the major highlights of the show, Kohrra 2 is the powerful screen presence of Mona Singh and Barun Sobti. The two portray much more than police officers. In the crime thriller, Mona Singh as 'Dhanwant Kaur' is also a mother, whose son died years ago in an accident. The makers beautifully portray her pain without making it look like melodrama.

The subtle moments of 'Dhanwant' avoiding looking at children for too long and waiting at the bus stop for her son, who will never return, add depth to her character. The show also features her husband, who is a hard-core alcoholic. Mona Singh perfectly portrays the role of the police officer, while reminding the viewers that she has a tough personal life.
