The 12-year-old girl, North West, is the oldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. On December 10, 2025, North West shared a video on TikTok and had turned off the comments. In the clip, the youngster lip-synced to an audio from American rapper and reality TV star, Chrisean Rock, saying, "Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together." North added a comic touch to the clip with the text atop that can be read as:

"This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing."

In October 2025, Kim Kardashian lauded her 12-year-old daughter, North West, on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. She mentioned that the youngster, who is a pre-teen, is quite mature. Kim Kardashian then shared how her daughter handles trolls and criticism with grace. She was quoted as saying:

"She's really mature in one sense where she'll be like, 'Mom, I saw this, and I don't really care if someone says they don't like my blue hair.'"

During the same podcast, Kim Kardashian opened up about the struggles she had been facing to raise a pre-teen. She also talked about the black corset top and mini skirt fashion, which sparked controversy. She requested people to be less judgmental, as it is quite difficult for her, and she is still learning things. She was quoted as saying:

"It’s really hard. It’s interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things, but then my daughter tries to wear it, and then I’m like, ‘Okay, we're never wearing that again.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world.'"

A user wrote, "Maybe it's the nurse in me, but I hope she washes her hands well after using the bathroom. Seems like an easy spot to get infected." Sharing a mixed reaction, a user penned, "Yeah, no. There's nothing wrong with letting her express herself through fun hair colours, fake piercings, and so on. But she is WAY too young to have a surface finger piercing. That's not a safe piercing even for an adult to heal, let alone a kid."

A TikTok user posted a video with a caption that can be read as, "North West getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart. [Is it] just me?" In response, the mother-daughter duo, through a joint TikTok account, commented, "It's Okay" with a love-hand emoji. This comment was a clear message to the trolls that the duo was unfazed by their chatter.
