What began as a quiet separation between a low-profile celebrity couple has now spiralled into a full-blown public spectacle involving Tamil actor, Jayam Ravi (Ravi Mohan) and his estranged wife, Aarti Ravi. The actor is currently embroiled in multiple controversies, including allegations of emotional abuse, parental alienation, and an alleged affair with singer and spiritual healer, Keneeshaa Francis, following which she received significant backlash online.
On May 25, 2025, Keneeshaa issued a legal notice against online trolls after facing a barrage of rape threats, death threats, and online abuse, allegedly stemming from Aarti Ravi’s allegations of calling Keneeshaa the ‘third person’ who broke her 15-year marriage with Ravi Mohan. Taking to her Instagram, Keneeshaa’s legal team issued a 'Cease and Desist' notice, warning all offenders that their actions are punishable under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and IT Act, 2000. A part of the notice read:
"These acts amount to direct violations of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including Section 75 (sexual harassment through unwelcome advances or sexually colored remarks), Section 351 (criminal intimidation), and Section 356 (defamation), as well as multiple provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, including Section 66E (violation of privacy), Section 67 and Section 67 A (publication or transmission of obscene content in electronic form)."
Keneeshaa’s legal team also pointed out that extensive digital evidence, including usernames, URLs, screenshots, and metadata, has been preserved through forensic timestamping and is ready for judicial scrutiny. The notice can be read as:
“Our client has preserved all relevant material, including URLs, usernames, timestamps, screenshots, and metadata, through independently verifiable digital hashing and time-stamping protocols, and such evidence shall be relied upon in judicial, regulatory, and investigative proceedings.”
Keneeshaa’s legal notice warned that any individual, influencer, media outlet, or anonymous user who created, shared, or engaged with defamatory content about her via posts, memes, DMs, or group chats will face legal action. Even passive actions, such as liking or tagging, may count as misconduct. A 48-hour deadline has been issued for removing such content from social media.
A few days ago, Keneeshaa Francis spoke up about the online harassment she had been a target of amid the ugly divorce between Ravi and Aarti. In an emotional Instagram story, the singer and spiritual healer addressed the hate coming her way and wrote:

“I understand that most of you don't know my truth… I hope someday soon, the truth unfolds. If I’m wrong, I’m ready to face the consequences legally. Until then, please let me breathe without hatred.”
Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan have been involved in an ugly back-and-forth on social media for the past few weeks, slamming allegations against each other and making defamatory remarks. Amid the online name-calling, the Madras High Court has barred both Ravi and Aarti from making any more defamatory statements about each other in public or on social media. The judge has also ordered all previous posts to be deleted and asked both parties to submit written responses before the next hearing on June 12, 2025.
Adding to the chaos, Aarti has reportedly filed a counter-petition demanding Rs. 40 lakh per month as maintenance. She alleged financial and emotional abuse, claiming Ravi stripped her and their children of financial support.
