After years of love, laughter, and ups and downs, the curtain has quietly fallen on Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship. After months of swirling speculation and subtle hints about trouble in paradise, the pop sensation and the Hollywood heartthrob have officially called it quits. The couple, who had been dating for a long time and got engaged in 2019, confirmed their separation through a joint statement. They also confirmed that they will continue to co-parent their 4-year-old daughter, Daisy.
After months of speculations surrounding a potential rift between one of Bollywood’s much-loved couples, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom officially confirmed that they are no longer together. Recently, the representatives of both stars issued a joint statement to Us Weekly. The statement, confirming their co-parenting decision as a family, noted:
"Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is and always will be raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect."
If reports are to be believed, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who were engaged for around six years, called off their engagement last month. However, while they are no longer together, they remain on good terms and will continue making appearances together as a family, co-parenting their four-year-old.
American pop sensation Katy Perry (40) began dating renowned actor Orlando Bloom (48) in 2016. Their romance bloomed after a chance meeting at a Golden Globes after-party. Their on-again, off-again relationship saw a brief breakup in 2017, but they later had a romantic reunion. The duo got engaged in 2019, when Bloom found the perfect opportunity to pop the question on Valentine’s Day. In 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, becoming UNICEF goodwill ambassadors who used the platform to announce her birth.
Perry and Bloom had long been admired in Hollywood for their high-profile yet grounded relationship. The two were often seen gushing about each other in various interviews and public appearances. However, over the past few months, reports of distance and differences started cropping up, and the buzz ignited with Bloom was recently spotted solo at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Venice wedding.

While the official statement confirmed their split, this breakup wasn’t entirely unexpected for fans closely following Katy and Orlando. Recently, Bloom was seen sharing cryptic notes on loneliness and self-reflection on his IG stories. On the other hand, Katy Perry, who is currently on her Lifetimes Tour, grew emotional during a concert in Australia, thanking fans for their support and hinting at personal struggles.
Sources close to the couple revealed that while the split is heartbreaking, it has been amicable. Given that both Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were previously married, the separation comes as a sombre phase for them both. A source told Us Weekly:
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life."
Though their romantic chapter has come to a close, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s love story remains one of growth and mutual respect. What are your thoughts on their separation?
