When Karisma Kapoor And Ex-Husband, Sunjay Were Spotted For Dinner, Duo Left In Separate Cars

Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, industrialist Sunjay Kapur, passed away on June 12, 2025, in the UK. He was 53 years old and was playing Polo when he met with a tragic end. Sunjay and Karisma married in 2003 and were blessed with Samaira in 2005. It was in 2011 when their daughter, son, Kiaan was born, and in 2014, they filed for mutual separation by consent. They had an ugly divorce battle, which was finalised in 2016. The former couple later did not meet for years until 2023, when they were spotted on a dinner outing.

Sunjay was at present married to Priya Sachdev. He was seen in 2023 with his ex-wife, Karisma, at a restaurant in Mumbai. Videos of the duo stepping out of the restaurant went viral. Karisma had donned a black and white floral printed outfit along with black heels. She had carried a bag with her. While Sunjay had worn a crisp white shirt, black jeans. Karisma had smiled at the paps, waved at them and walked towards her car, saying 'thank you' to them. Sunjay, on the other side, walked behind her towards his car, but neither of them looked at each other, and they also didn't have any interactions.

Karisma and Sunjay were continuously papped together in 2023 as they made a rare appearance together for a dinner outing. Karisma's facial expressions seemed like she was not very comfortable being papped in front of her ex-husband.

It was in March 2023 when Karisma, her ex-husband, Sunjay, were seen celebrating the birthday of their son, Kiaan, together. Sunjay was seen separately coming out of the car with his son, Azarias Kapur. His wife, Priya, was also seen, while Sunjay's ex-wife, Karisma, had come with Kiaan, and it was a reunion of the exes. Karisma had worn a black tracksuit and a white shirt and was also seen posing for the paps. Karisma back then had captioned the snaps from the birthday celebration as:

"When ur boy is officially a teenager but you still want to squish him #youcantstopme #mamalove.”

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur's ugly divorce

Karisma and Sunjay's divorce became a messy affair when both of them pressed a lot of heavy allegations against one another. It was in 2017 when Sunjay married Priya Sachdev and was blessed with a son, Azarias Kapur and a daughter, Safira Chatwal, who was from Priya's first marriage. Sunjay and Karisma had washed their dirty linen in public. Karisma's dad, Randhir, in an interview earlier with Hindustan Times about the divorce of his daughter and called Sunjay as a third-class guy. He shared:

"Everyone knows our ­credentials. We are Kapoors. We don’t need to run after anyone’s cash-on-hand. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives. Sunjay is a third-class man. I never wanted Karisma marrying him. He has debauchery in his ­system and never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull*** to her, and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is. I would not like to say anything more than this.”
