Karisma Is In Touch With Priya Sachdev After Sunjay Kapur's Demise, Reveals His Sister, 'She Has..'

Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur's demise on June 12, 2025, caused a sense of sorrow along with shock. The businessman was playing polo when he reportedly swallowed a bee, which led to his heart attack and finally his demise. The businessman was also known in the glamour world for being Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband. Karisma and Sunjay got married in 2003, and it was in 2016 that they parted ways. The couple shares two kids, Kiaan and Samaira. Well, when Sunjay passed away suddenly, it turned out to be heartbreaking for Karisma and their kids.

Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira Kapur praises Karisma Kapoor

After Sunjay Kapur's demise, a family feud had been going on around his Rs. 31,000 crore business, and his mom, Rani Kapur raised a suspicion about her son's sudden death. Amid this, Sunjay's sister, Mandhira Kapur sat for an interview with NDTV, wherein she talked about their family's current equation with Karisma Kapoor. Mandhira said that Karisma is a really good mother.

Mandhira Kapur also credited the actress for allowing the family to remain one. She also mentioned that the kids have been close to their father's family, and Karisma has a credit in that. Mandhira mentioned that she wishes for the actress and her kids to maintain the kind of relationship they now have. Praising Karisma, Mandhira said:

"She is a mother. She is a very good mother, I have to give her that. She has done a very good job of letting the family be one, which is…you know..I commend her in that. I think the kids have been close, and they’ve had a great relationship. Hopefully somehow, we can carry that on and let the family be one again because she is looking out for her kids like any mother would, and that’s what she is doing."

Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira Kapur reveals Karisma is in touch with Priya Sachdev Kapur

After the divorce from Karisma Kapoor, Sunjay Kapur got married to Priya Sachdev Kapur. After Sunjay passed away suddenly, Karisma stood beside Priya and the businessman's family members. During the recent interview, Mandhira Kapur was asked if Karisma is still in close contact with her ex-husband, Sunjay's family. To this, Mandhira mentioned that Karisma is in close touch with them, and she's sure that the actress is in contact with Priya Sachdev Kapur as well. Mandhira shared that Samaira and Kiaan often visit Rani Kapur, and they are all in close contact, which isn't meant to be a family feud. Sunjay's sister could be quoted as saying:

“Yes, of course. I am sure she is in touch with Priya (Sunjay’s widow Priya Sachdev Kapur) too. The fact is we’ve all had a good relationship. The kids have been coming to see mom. We are all in touch. This is not meant to be a family feud."

In the same interview, Mandhira Kapur said that, be it her, her other sister, or her mother, their only intention is to have the peace of mind, while carrying forward the family legacy and fulfilling their father's dream and keeping up with the respect for their brother, who died just a few months ago. She further mentioned that the main aim is to find a way wherein the head of their family should keep her space and that respect factor, as per Mandhira, should always be there.

The family feud after Sunjay Kapur's demise

After Sunjay Kapur passed away, his mom, Rani, raised a suspicion, stating she doesn't clearly know how her son died. Rani further revealed that someone tried to usurp the family legacy and blocked her out of all her accounts. Sunjay's mom also added that she was living on mercy and that someone even forced her to sign documents without revealing their content. Amid this, Priya changed her name to 'Priya Sunjay Kapur', which also raised eyebrows.
