Danny graduated from Miami Coral Park Senior High School, and during his childhood, he had only one dream, which was to be a professional athlete, information which he shared with Empire. He didn't actually think about this, but even pursued soccer and played for Oglethorpe University. During that time, he sustained an ankle injury, leading him to make changes in his career plans.

Following this, Danny turned to acting and took professional training at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he developed his acting skills in New York’s indie theater and film scenes. He took the step seemingly after he encountered a PA from the 2012 movie, Reluctant Fundamentalist, who visited the soccer field and wanted to know from the crowd if anyone wanted to be an extra. Danny said that it was just at the moment when he brought all his acting books. It was in 2022, when in an interview, Danny revealed that it was during that time that he was hustling and worked the hardest. Recalling the days of struggles, Danny said:

"Fall semester sophomore year at NYU Tisch. Hamlet, Mark Antony, Hotspur, Shylock, amongst other roles while continuing to audition."

In 2019, Danny had a very busy year as he continued to appear in a bunch of independent films such as Richard Bates Jr.’s Tone-Deaf, Katharine O’Brien’s drama, Lost Transmissions, David Raboy’s French/U.S. mystery, The Giant, and Marshall Burnette-directed thriller, Silo, which built his resume strongly. Following this, Danny had his breakthrough moment as he worked alongside Tom Cruise in the mega hit, Top Gun: Maverick. Talking about his bond with Tom Cruise, Danny said in an interview with Men's Health that the actor is one of the fastest repliers on the planet. He also shared the best advice he has gotten from Cruise was that 'how you do it is exactly how you do it'. Talking about Tom, Danny said:

"To this day, we text all the time; he’s still one of the fastest repliers on the planet. He replies faster than [Maverick costar] Jay Ellis does. But the thing I learned most was: How you do anything is how you do everything. It’s a fine line, making something that works and something that doesn’t. But he has a quality of understanding the craft so much that it gives an ultimate freedom of understanding. Not only of the film, but how the film is going to be received."

Following this, Danny Ramirez joined French filmmaker, Claire Denis in the film, Noon, which was based on Denis Johnson’s 1986 novel. The movie was featured at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Grand Prix. He also appeared in Root Letter and Jac Cron’s drama, Chestnut. Cut to 2025, which brought another milestone for him as he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing the role of 'Falcon' in Captain America: Brave New World. Danny worked really hard for his role in his movie, which needed him to shed 17 pounds. Talking about the same, Danny told Men's Health:

"I wanted to look as shredded as Bruce Lee. The entire meal plan structure was around, essentially, how do I sustain doing two-a-days around mixed martial arts and weight lifting?”
