Jennifer Aniston Reveals The Reason Behind Not Attending Met Gala, 'For Me, It's A Mental Game...'

Hollywood starlet, Jennifer Aniston, has been every man’s crush ever since she played ‘Rachel Green’ in Friends. Since then, Jennifer found her foothold in Hollywood with back-to-back projects. However, despite being an A-list celebrity, she has never attended the popular Met Gala, an event graced by renowned celebrities every year.

Jennifer Aniston reveals why she skips the Met Gala

In an interview with Glamour, Jennifer revealed the reason behind skipping the Met Gala, sharing that she gets overwhelmed by the idea of dressing up. Revealing how she has been invited multiple times, Jennifer revealed:

“Yes, I have been invited, but I don’t go, It overwhelms me. It’s the getting ready, the putting on the dress. I’m a ‘jeans and flip-flops and tank top’ kind of girl. I love dressing up too, but for me it’s a mental game of. 'Let’s get dressed up, put on a fancy dress, makeup, get your hair all ‘purdy’ and go sit in a big room with your peers.'”

Jennifer Aniston reveals getting anxious

In the same interaction, Jennifer also revealed that she gets anxious about public speaking events, as her words have often been taken out of context. Speaking about the same, she stated:

“Everyone’s there to celebrate each other and have some fun. I even get a little anxious about public speaking, especially over the years of having your words twisted and taken out of context. So I find myself almost hall-monitoring myself in a weird way."

The 56-year-old Jennifer Aniston still looks as young as she did during her Friends days. There have been speculations in the past about her undergoing cosmetic procedures to look young. She was spotted leaving an upscale clinic in Connecticut with Sandra Bullock and Amanda Anka in 2024. After the sighting, rumours of her cosmetic surgery made their way to the internet.

In 2017, Jennifer admitted to getting Botox and fillers in the past; however, the actress stressed that she never liked the cosmetic procedure. The stunning actress recently shut down the rumours of going under the knife and admitted to getting facials, lasers, and other ‘good stuff’. Speaking to Glamour, she said:

“I'm not going to say I don't get the facials and the lasers and all that good stuff. I mean, I'm maintained. I'm not going to just go down and let these grey hairs take over. So it's perspective, and also knowing that this is our one body.”

Talking about her personal life, Jennifer is currently dating Jim Curtis, a transformational coach and hypnotherapist. They were first spotted together in late June 2025, and their relationship was confirmed after they were seen on a yacht with friends in Mallorca. However, not much is known about their bond.
