Jaya Kishori Gets Backlash For Comment On 'Husband Killed On Honeymoon', '10-11 Case Mein Darr Gaye'

The increasing crime against men in their marital life has suddenly come into the picture. The brutal contract killing of Raja Raghuvanshi by his newly-married wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, on their honeymoon, left the entire nation to rethink the safety of men, as if a crime is being committed against them by their lawfully wedded wife, they cannot report it. Not only this, the brutal killing of an ex-navy merchant by his wife, in front of their daughter, also left the entire nation in deep shock. Amidst it, spiritual guru, Jaya Kishori's remark '10-11 mein darr gaye' made everyone wonder about the mindset of today's generation.

Jaya Kishori faces backlash for her comment on '10-11 mein darr gaye' amidst rising marital crime against men

The reason why more and more people are coming out in the open and asking for justice is due to the fact that the law is women-centric, and men have no right against facing marital violence. Raja Raghuvanshi and the ex-navy merchant's brutal murders are just some stories that came in the media. Recently, at an event, Subhankar Mishra questioned spiritual speaker, Jaya Kishori, on how men are scared of getting married as they are being packed in drums and killed on their honeymoon trip.

Keeping a straight face, Jaya Kishori asked him to tell her more about the cases and names. Later, she said that men got scared after 10-11 crime cases, but women have been dealing with it for ages. They have been preaching that 'not all men'. Jaya's said:

"5-6-7-10, 10 mein apko itna darr lag gaya, hazaaro saalo se yeh humare sath hota aa raha hai. Aur hume uske baad bhi kaha ja raha hai 'not all men' aur hum usi vishwas ke saath abhi bhi shaadi ke liye taiyaar hai, ki haan sare mard aise nahi hote. Jab ki hazaaro varsho se mahilao ke sath yeh hota aa raha hai, fir bhi humare ander ek vishwas hai ki saare mard aise nahi hote. Ache purush bhi hai, aur hum un ache pursho ki khoz mein hai. Aur agar ap 10 cases mein itna darr jayege toh I don't know fir problem kisme hai."

When Subhankar asked if this topic should be considered, Jaya shared that this was the wrong way of thinking and could lead to a fight. She further added that she tells women as well that don't make it a gender-based fight, as it is a crime that has been committed, and the person who has committed the crime should be given appropriate punishment, rather than finding the gender of the person. She added that whenever something like this happened, women and men came out fighting with each other.

Netizens reacted to Jaya Kishori's remark

As soon as the video of Jaya's remark surfaced on the internet, netizens rushed to express their opinion on the same. One user pointed at the law which is biased towards women and wrote, "Madam shayad bhool gyi ki, desh me kanoon, mahilaaon k favour me hai, purushon k nahi. Usi ka fayeda utha rahi hain, mahilayein." A second commented, "@iamjayakishori @deepikanarayanbhardwaj Everything is good and nobody is comparing anything, but the point is there are laws for women empowerment, women safety, women protection, but just quote me even one law which protects men's safety, men's exploitation, where we'll go to get justice?? Where's the equality here??" A third one commented, "Matlb harzo saal se ho rha to ab ap kro to vo shi, yeh kaise defend kr skta h koi, hazro saal se galat ho raha, hum mante, lakin yeh ni maan ni rhi ki galat hai."
