'Bigg Boss 14' Fame, Jasmine Bhasin Shares Her Chilling Casting Couch Experience In A Hotel Room

Jasmine Bhasin is a popular Indian television actress, who has appeared in shows like Dil Se Dil Tak, Tashan-e-Ishq, Naagin and more. Recently, the Bigg Boss 14 fame, Jasmine shared her disturbing experience on facing the casting couch in a hotel room during the early days of her career. 

Jasmine Bhasin was once called to a hotel room for an audition

Recently, Jasmine Bhasin appeared on The Himanshu Mehta Show for an honest and candid conversation. During the chat, Jasmine shared her horrific experience of the time, when she had arrived at a hotel in Juhu for a casting meeting with many other girls in the lobby too. She mentioned when she entered the room, she saw a man drinking and soon the coordinator left the room. The director then told Jasmine to perform a scene. Scared Jasmine asked if she could prepare it and perform it the next day, but the director refused. In her words: 

"I went for the meeting. First of all, I got scared seeing a man having a drink and telling me audition, and even the coordinator also left the room. So first, I got scared. After that, he told me, ‘You have to do this scene.’ So I told him, ‘Sir, okay, I will prepare the scene and I will come back tomorrow.’ He said, ‘No, no, you have to do it now.’ So I did it."

Jasmine added that when she did the scene, the director rejected it and demanded a more physical performance, involving her to get up and perform it. She recalled that he gave her an example but when he was not satisfied, he locked her and was about to do something to Jasmine. But she smartly escaped from there. Since then Jasmine has been determined to never go to a hotel for any audition. She said: 

"He told me, ‘No, not like this.’ I mean, he was basically telling me to stand up and… he told me a scene, for example, ‘Your lover is going, you have to stop him.’ So I did that. He said, ‘No, not like this.’ You have to… he locked me and kind of… he was trying to do something else, but okay, then I used my skills and I ran off from there. And that day, I decided, okay, no meetings are happening in a hotel room, never in life, never."

Jasmine Bhasin feels that desperation leads a person to wrong places

In the same podcast, Jasmine Bhasin accepted that casting couch does exist in the industry, but she also explained that such people are not actually casting directors, they are just some random people, who are doing this for their benefit. She also explained that normally this happens to someone, who is desperately looking for work and that desperation leads them to such wrong spaces. She told: 

"I would say it does exist, but people, those who are doing casting calls, they are actually not casting, they are not casting directors, they are some useless people who are just doing it for their sake. Because auditions legit land, but I want to tell everybody, legit casting calls are very important to understand, because you have to understand, I know everyone wants work and that desperation lands us in wrong spaces but people who want to cast, will never do a casting couch."
