Janhvi Kapoor Claps Back At Trolls Who Call Her 'Plastic' Amid Her Cannes 2025 Debut, 'Who Cares?'

Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of legendary actress, Sridevi and film producer, Boney Kapoor, is among the most popular young actresses in Bollywood. She has always been in the spotlight, especially since her debut with Dhadak in 2018. Janhvi's every move, fashion statement, film project, interview, etc, gets scrutinised by the netizens, where some side with her and others call her out. Consequently, the young actress often becomes a target of trolls, particularly for her looks, as some people allege the actress of undergoing cosmetic procedures. Janhvi Kapoor, who is presently gaining limelight for her debut at Cannes, recently reacted to the claim in a behind-the-scenes video from the event.

Janhvi Kapoor takes a dig at trolls who call her 'plastic'

Janhvi Kapoor's photos and videos from Cannes 2025 are going viral on the internet, and among them, one specific behind-the-scenes video has caught the attention of viewers. In the video, the actress, who was getting ready to slay her glamorous looks at the Cannes Film Festival, appeared to be in a playful mood. Wearing a red robe, the actress was getting her makeup done and ate quick bites of her food. Right in the moment, she expressed confidence in herself, and said:

"I look mesmerising. I look breathtaking. I cannot wait to eat. They are going to say it is plastic, but who cares?" 

The dig on being called 'plastic' sparked laughter among Janhvi's team. For those unaware, it's not the first time when Janhvi Kapoor addressed trolls. In a previous conversation with Karan Johar on Dharma Production's YouTube channel, the actress accepted that she does think a lot about trolls, and they have been there for as far as she can remember in her life. Despite knowing that it's unhealthy for her life, she hasn't allowed herself to feel bad about it. She said:

"In my head, it is always like other people have it much worse. And it seems kind of phoney for me to sit here and be like, 'I got trolled. It's hard.' It does not seem like a real enough problem because it is not a relatable enough problem for the common man, and it is a privileged problem."

Apart from Janhvi Kapoor, her sister, Khushi Kapoor, has also been criticised for going under the knife for cosmetic procedures. During the promotion of her film, Loveyapa, the actress sat down for a candid conversation with Curly Tales and confessed the same. She accepted that she is vocal about it because she doesn't feel there is anything wrong with it. Sharing her feelings, the actress said:

"I don't think it's such a big deal. I feel like this term is 'plastic plastic'. People think it's the biggest insult you can give someone."

Janhvi Kapoor made her debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival after her film, Homebound was screened in the prestigious, Un Certain Regard section. Needless to say, the actress utilised the opportunity and slayed at the international event with one fashionable look after the other. For her first look at the red carpet, Janhvi opted for a custom Tarun Tahliani dress with a soft pink hue. It featured a corset bodice, a ghoonghat like hood and a long skirt style with pearl jewellery. On the second day at her film's screening, she wore a flowy backless gown from Anamika Khanna with a breastplate-styled corset zari work and jade-jadao necklace on the back. The actress continued the streak by wearing a white coloured saree with wet drapery.
