We live in an era where viral death hoaxes spread faster than facts. Social media is filled with claims and condolences posts about many famous personalities, and this time, an incident involving popular YouTuber Jake Koehler, a.k.a. Dallmyd or Scuba Jake, has sparked attention. It all began when a shocking new Facebook post claimed that the content creator was killed in a great white shark attack during a deep-sea dive in Florida has gone viral, leaving fans concerned and confused.
Recently, a post shared by 49ers Empire alleged that Koehler was 'brutally torn apart by a great white shark' while recording underwater. It even included a fake 'RIP 1991–2025' image and claimed the attack was filmed live by a dive buddy. Further, the post claimed that Jake died in Florida Waters and his 'shredded remains' were later found by the authorities.
However, no official reports or credible sources have confirmed such an incident. Later, netizens found out that the claim originated from a fake news site. Moreover, the well-known diver, Ocean Ramsey, who was mentioned as the source of the post, did not make such statements.
