Diljit Dosanjh has landed in controversy since there has been buzz surrounding the casting of some Pakistani artists in the upcoming film, Sardar Ji 3. The film is all set to release on June 27, 2025, but now it seems that the film might face a delay. According to a report by News18, on June 13, 2025, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president, BN Tiwari, condemned actor, Diljit Dosanjh and also threatened to ban him from the film industry. This possible ban on Diljit comes after there has been buzz about Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir’s presence in the upcoming film, Sardar Ji 3. In his words:
"If Diljit Dosanjh or any other artist continues to act like this, an action will not just be taken against their film but against them as well. They will be accused of non-cooperation. We have no place for traitors. The film industry cannot support people who are against this country. We need to stop people who are sitting in India but are helping others. We are getting multiple names. They will be ousted from the industry if they do not work for the betterment of the country."
On June 13, 2025, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees wrote a letter to CBFC chief, Prasoon Joshi and urged them to withhold certification of Diljit’s upcoming film, Sardar Ji 3. FWICE wrote that prohibiting Pakistani content and collaboration with Pakistani artists is done keeping in mind the horrifying Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025, and is now a matter of national concern. The letter written by FWICE to CBFC chief, Prasoon can be read as:
"In light of recent directives issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B Ministry), prohibiting Pakistani-origin content and collaboration with Pakistani artistes in Indian productions, and the parallel stance adopted by FWICE, we urge CBFC to align with these directives and national interest considerations before proceeding with certification."
