The Tampa Bay Rays drafted him in the 35th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Blake played for two seasons as an infielder before moving into coaching. He quickly rose to different ranks in Tampa Bay and led the Charleston RiverDogs to back-to-back Minor League Manager of the Year awards in 2021 and 2022. Later, Blake served as the Rays' field coordinator and then senior director of player development, showcasing his leadership and understanding of modern Baseball. At the same time, he has served as the bench coach for Team Italy during the 2023 World Baseball Classic and as the quality-control coach for Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Winter League.
