Cricket fans are counting the hours before the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) takes place between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). The showdown would be between the two great teams, amid whom the pressure is built high. Now, as both the IPL teams gear up to compete against one another, reports are doing the rounds that the theme of IPL 2025 will be themed 'Operation Sindoor'. Army, Navy and Air Force Chiefs reportedly have been called to attend the IPL 2025.
A report by Bhaskar English revealed that the Chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force are yet to give their confirmation on the arrival. However, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will be decorated with tricolour lights, and ace singer, Shankar Mahadevan, will also be doing a live concert. A picture of the stadium being decorated also went viral on Facebook. Now, according to the publication, even BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the Chiefs of the Defence forces are being invited. He shared:
"To celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, we have invited Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, along with other military officials and soldiers, to watch the IPL final in Ahmedabad. While cricket has always been a national passion, nothing is above the sovereignty, integrity, and security of our nation."
Saikia also shared that the closing ceremony of IPL 2025 is dedicated to the soldiers of the nation who sacrificed their lives during Operation Sindoor. Saikia shared that BCCI salutes the bravery, courage and selfless service of the Indian Armed Forces and as a tribute and gratitude towards the Armed Forces, they have decided to honour the heroes and dedicate the closing ceremony in memory of the soldiers.
Plane tickets from Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chandigarh towards Ahmedabad have skyrocketed in price, as high as Rs.25,000 on June 2, 2025. On other days, the price of the plane tickets ranges between Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 5,000. The publication also reported that more than 80,000 tickets have been sold out via online platforms, and 25,000 seats have been kept reserved. The stadium reportedly has a seating capacity of 1.30 lakh.
The report also stated that as of June 4, 2025, morning flight prices from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi have risen to Rs. 30,000. Reportedly, there are in total of five morning flights to Bengaluru before noon, with two flights having limited seats. Fares of the same have risen from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 30,000. The report also shared that 25,000 tickets have already been distributed for free to varied organisations, which also includes the cricket board. A part of the reserved bookings has also been dedicated to the Armed personnel.

The grand finale between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru is set to take place in a couple of hours. Punjab Kings smashed Mumbai Indians while Shreyas Iyer, after playing two times in Ahmedabad, tasted victory. On the other side, RCB did not play in this venue in 2025, so it can be tricky for them to adjust to the conditions for the finals.
