On the surface, Tyler Robinson’s life looked picture-perfect. His loving parents, Matt and Amber Denise Robinson, were well-known in Washington, Utah, for their kindness and generosity. So when locals saw Tyler’s face on the news, they were stunned. The 22-year-old, from a devout Mormon family, stood accused of plotting the cold-blooded assassination of one of the nation’s most prominent conservative figures.
The world remains stunned by the brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk, gunned down in broad daylight on September 10, 2025, before 3,000 students at Utah Valley University. Harrowing footage shows Kirk collapsing after a neck wound as chaos erupted in the courtyard. Another clip allegedly revealed a shadowy figure atop the Losee Center Building, 200 yards away, where investigators believe the shots were fired.
After a 33-hour FBI manhunt, authorities identified the suspected assassin as Tyler Robinson, turned in to U.S. Marshals by his own father, Matt Robinson. Behind the walls of his picturesque suburban cul-de-sac home, authorities say, Tyler allegedly nurtured the hatred that culminated in a horrific crime.
Tyler’s neighbourhood looks like the perfect picture of small-town America, with family barbecues on weekends, basketball hoops, and quiet driveways where children pedal their bikes without a care in the world. But behind the walls of one of these suburban homes, darkness festered in secret, unknown to the rest of the world.
Pictures and videos of a two-storey house have taken over the news ever since Tyler Robinson was taken into custody for the alleged murder of Charlie Kirk. The house belongs to the Robinsons, a tight-knit Mormon family that’s ready to help the community. Tyler’s family home is a sprawling two-storey house with six bedrooms, valued at around 650,000 U.S. dollars.

Tyler’s father, Matt Robinson, a Utah native, once worked with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and is a registered Republican voter, the same party Charlie Kirk aligned with. His mother, Amber, serves at Intermountain Support Coordination Services, assisting people with disabilities. Speaking about Tyler’s parents, their neighbour Kristin Schwiermann told The Mirror U.S.:
“They're a good, God-fearing family. You won't meet kinder people than Matt and Amber. Amber is the loveliest woman anyone could ever meet… They love their children; they've raised them right. This is not the kind of home you'd expect something like this to come out of.”
It was Tyler’s father, Matt Robinson, who reportedly recognised his son and confronted him. Tyler allegedly confessed but threatened self-harm if police were alerted. Matt eventually persuaded Tyler to speak with their youth minister, who had law enforcement ties. The minister then passed the information to the authorities.
Some outlets claim Matt personally drove Tyler to surrender, while others report the FBI took him into custody. The neighbours have been shell-shocked by the whole incident, one of them telling The Mirror U.S.:
"I can't even begin to imagine the anguish they must be feeling. To have your own son supposedly confess to something like that and then be faced with the choice of turning him in, it must have torn them apart… The pain they must be in, it's unimaginable.”
According to Governor Cox and a probable-cause statement filed in court on September 12, 2025, investigators recovered ammunition from the shooting that carried bizarre engravings. The messages included “O Bella ciao, Bella ciao, Bella ciao ciao ciao!” and “Hey fascist! CATCH!” followed by a sequence of five arrow symbols; “If you read this, you are GAY lmao”; and on a spent casing, “Notices bulge, OwO what’s this?”
While Governor Cox left the engravings open to interpretation, investigators suspect they may point to a politically motivated intent behind Kirk’s assassination. A Robinson family member reportedly recalled the 22-year-old expressing hatred toward the conservative leader. Tyler also reportedly shared during a family dinner:
"Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate."
Just a few years ago, a young Tyler Robinson was dressing up in a Donald Trump Halloween costume and smiling for photos with his parents and two younger brothers. And today, he is making global headlines for his unimaginable crime as the assassin of Charlie Kirk. The image of his family home in an ordinary suburban locality now stands in stark contrast to the horror of the crime he’s accused of committing.
Tyler Robinson’s house is perhaps the most unsettling detail of all: that behind the walls of a loving home built on faith, duty, and kindness, a son allegedly plotted the downfall of one of America’s most controversial conservative voices.
