The online community is mourning the loss of UK-based influencer, Jess Hurrell, better known for sharing content related to interiors. She used to spread warmth, joy and positivity with her content related to home styling tips, heartfelt posts on her personal journey and fun memories with her family.

Jess had touched the lives of thousands of people through her blog, Gold Is A Neutral and had a strong desire to live. However, the news about her sudden demise has left everyone in shock. Here's everything you must know about her.

Who Was Jess Hurrell?

Jess Hurrell, based in London, began her career as a journalist in a local newspaper. But her career took a turn after the birth of her daughter. She chooses to step away from the fast-paced newsroom to start her interiors blog, Gold Is A Neutral, which used to offer a mix of practical design ideas and aspirational styling. The blog, combined with her Instagram content, where Jess shared insights from her personal world, including family trips, favourite recipes, and small joys, with carefully curated home transformations, made her popular. 

Over time, Jess gained 94,000 Instagram followers, and she built a supportive community that admired her not just for her style but for her warmth and relatability. However, earlier this year, she shocked her followers by sharing insights from her 8-year-long cancer battle. Jess Hurrell's cancer journey began with a stage 2 melanoma diagnosis.

Jess Hurrell's brave fight against cancer 

According to a video shared by Jess, she was told that her illness had progressed to stage 4. Soon, she underwent surgery to remove a malignant mole and lymph nodes, followed by two years of immunotherapy. Amid her treatment, Jess continued to enjoy the small joys of life and was soon given a clear sign. However, later she found that the illness had spread to her brain and she underwent radiotherapy until January 2025, when she was declared cancer-free. Sharing her desire to live, the mom of two had said:

"My treatment recently ended, and as of January, I was cancer-free. Who knows what's around the corner? But I'm determined to keep living life to the max and exploring the world with my little family."

Jess Hurrell's husband, David, confirmed her demise 

Jess Hurrell's demise was confirmed by a statement released by her family. Recently, Jess Hurrell's husband, David, took to her Instagram handle and shared a post to confirm the news. For those unaware, they had been together for nearly 25 years after first meeting at school and were about to celebrate their 14th anniversary when she passed away. The duo were parents to a 12-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter. Sharing his tribute to his loving wife, he penned:

"Happy anniversary, darling. Can't believe we didn't make it to 14, but I've had the most incredible 25 years and am blessed to have met you. Sleep tight, xxx."
