Choli Ke Peeche from the 1993 movie, Khalnayak is helmed as one of the cult classic songs, which is remembered for his upbeat music and its disputable lyrics. It was picturised on Madhuri Dixit and Neena Gupta, and was sung by legendary singers, Ila Arun and Alka Yagnik. Moreover, this yesteryear hit song has been recreated for Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon's starrer film, Crew. After the release of the remixed version, Ila Arun has reacted to it.
Recently, Ila Arun, one of the original singers of Choli Ke Peeche, sat for an interview with India Today and shared her thoughts on the remake of the song. The singer revealed that even though she shares a good rapport with the music company, Tips, she was called just five minutes prior to the release of the remixed version of Choli Ke Peeche. In her words:
"Firstly, I would like to make it very clear that I have a very good relationship with Tips. Having said that, they called me five minutes before the launch of the song and asked my blessing. What else I could do, except give them my blessings? "

Further sharing her disappointment, Ila Arun added that she was dumbfounded when she got to know about the remix of Choli Ke Peeche, but was not in position to ask the makers why they spoiled the original song. The singer further recalled the beauty of yesteryear's iconic song and praised Laxmikant-Pyarelal for its orchestrations. She said:
"I was dumbfounded but couldn't ask them why have you done this? So my reaction to the song is exactly what Alka Yagnik's reaction is. I feel 'Choli Ke Peeche' is such an iconic song. What a fantastic orchestration by Laxmikant–Pyarelal and the world has danced to this colourful tune for years now. It's a beautiful song written by Anand Bakshi and performed by Madhuri Dixit and Neena Gupta."

Moreover, Ila Arun mentioned that the industry now tries to cater to the needs of the younger generation by recreating older songs. But she questioned why this needed to be done in the first place. Young directors should create their own energetic and powerful songs rather than remixing old ones. The singer also said that even DJs spoil all the songs by recreating them.

Further, in the same interaction, Ila Arun said that even if Tips had informed them about this earlier, she could not have refused it, but she felt it was ethically wrong. Moreover, she continued opening up about the same and said that even if they decided to remake a song, the original artists associated with it should have been informed of it. In her words:
"I don't want to create any controversy. The fact is that everyone is complimenting me that I am rocking, but am I not rocking, I am shaken up by this. Even the younger generation is calling me and telling me that my song has been recreated and Kareena Kapoor Khan is dancing to the number, but what can I do about that? I can only say I am dumbfounded. In my opinion, if you want to recreate, you should work with the original artists and keep them in the loop. And if you are making any profit, then they also should get compensation for it."
