'Harry Potter' Makers Share First Look Of 1.2 Billion US Dollars Mini-Town For The New TV Series

Harry Potter is a series of seven novels written by JK Rowling, which was later turned into a film franchise by Warner Bros. While the popularity of the film series grew among the fans, the world of wizards became an integral part of every child's growing up years, the makers made a decision which left the entire world stunned. They announced the return of the popular series, but this time as a television series, which left the fans excited.

Harry Potter makers build a 1.27 billion US dollar mini-town for the TV series

According to a report by The Sun UK, the producers have been pouring money into Warner Bros. This was followed by the rapidly expanding studio complex at Leavesden, just outside Watford, Herts. The set-up is stated to include several new roads, multi-storey car parks and vast hangars to house the sets. If the reports are to be believed, a school is also being built for hundreds of young actors who will have the opportunity to work in the filming world for years as a part of the Harry Potter TV series cast, but only after unwavering dedication and commitment.

The set-up will also include a facility for dogs, birds of prey, rodents, snakes, spiders and horses which will appear in the TV series. According to The Sun, executives are using the wasteland next to the studios to build an entirely new and updated version of 'Harry Potter's' birth town, Privet Drive. For the unversed, it is the same street where the young wizard spent his early years. A replica of 'Harry Potter's' Privet Drive now stands on the 200-acre studio site, which Warner Bros leased for ten years from 2000 to make the films before buying it outright in 2010. Homes on the new Privet Drive, in the fictional Surrey town of Little Whinging, have also been updated with Tudor features.

A source close to the publication was quoted revealing that Warner Bros has made a huge commitment to the TV series. They added that they are looking to make multiple lengthy series over the decades and have pumped in a hefty amount of capital for the same. The source shared that the series will take place over the coming decades, so keeping the cast and crew requirements in mind, they have decided to build a facility that can accommodate them all. The source was quoted as saying:

"Warner Bros are making a huge commitment to the new TV show, looking at making multiple, lengthy series over the next decade. So they see pumping a huge amount of cash in upfront to construct this infrastructure as a worthwhile investment which they’ll eventually get a return on. What they’ll have is a small metropolis that will provide not only the backdrop for the show but also all the facilities the huge cast and crew need."
