Meet Halle Berry, Ex-Wife Of David Justice, Claimed Ex Inflicted Physical Abuse On Her, And More

Halle Berry is an American actress, who was first married to Baseball player, David Justice. However, their wedding ended within a few years. Recently, David made headlines when he confirmed the reason for their divorce after many years. It is also worth mentioning that Halle made claims that her ex-boyfriend physically abused her. 

Who is Halle Berry?

Halle Berry, also known as Halle Maria Berry, is an American actress. She started her acting career as a model and has been part of several beauty contests. She was the runner-up in the Miss USA pageant of 1986 and finished sixth in Miss World 1986. Her breakthrough film was in the romantic comedy, Boomerang in 1992, opposite Eddie Murphy. Soon, she appeared in films such as The Flintstones and Bulworth. She has even won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. 

Halle Berry's first marriage to David Justice 

Halle and David first met each other in 1992, and got married within five months of knowing each other. David Justice revealed that it was Halle, who asked him to marry her, and he wasn't able to deny her. The former baseball player revealed that he didn't want to make her feel bad by denying the proposal. They tied the knot in 1993. After three years of being together, the ex-couple decided to part ways, and they divorced each other in 1997. Soon, buzz was rife that hinted at physical abuse on her inflicted by David Justice.

When David Justice revealed the reason for his divorce from Halle

Recently, in an appearance on Matt Barnes' podcast, All The Smoke, the former MLB player revealed the issues he and Berry had in their marriage, which ended in 1997 with a divorce. David revealed that he was in a honeymoon state with Berry for five months after their wedding, and soon he thought of having children with the actress. But he was hit by a harsh reality. He claimed that back in those days, he thought that a wife should cook, clean and be traditional. He was quoted as saying:

"My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasn't vast. So, I'm looking at my mom — and I'm a Midwest guy. So, in my mind, I'm thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean, [be] traditional, you know?" 

Elaborating on what led to his divorce, David questioned whether he wanted to have kids with Halle Berry. He revealed that during those days, she wouldn't cook, clean, or show any maternal instincts. Talking about it, David said:

"Then I'm thinking, 'OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?' At that time, as a young guy — she don't cook, don't clean, don't really seem like motherly, and then we start having issues."

When Halle Berry claimed that her ex punched her hard on the face 

In a 1996 interview with People, Berry revealed that her ex-boyfriend once hit her so hard on the face that it punctured her eardrum. The consequence was that she lost 80 percent of her hearing in her left ear. However, David Justice revealed that he wasn't the one who did that. It is worth mentioning that Halle never mentioned the name of her ex, and it left people pointing fingers at her first husband, David. But he clarified the same and denied any such claims. 

When Halle Berry revealed attempting suicide after her marriage to David Justice ended 

In 2007, Berry, in an interview with Parade magazine, revealed that she had attempted suicide after their marriage ended. Earlier, in an interview with People, David revealed how Berry would get mad at him for watching ESPN. And she would think he was cheating on her every time a picture of him with a woman surfaced. He said:

"She’d get mad when I watched ESPN. And every time she saw a picture of me with a woman, any woman who might have been standing by my side, she thought I was cheating. She carried a lot of baggage from her previous relationships. She was always suspicious. I’ve never known a girl who could throw a tantrum like she does."

Halle Berry has had an amazing career in Hollywood, but her personal life has faced a lot of challenges.
