Govinda, born as Govind Arun Ahuja, is an actor and politician. The actor has done 150+ films in his acting career and is known for his satirical performances and dance skills. He was the leading actor throughout the 90s and was last seen in Sikander Bharti's 2019 comedy-drama, Rangeela Raja.
Bollywood actor, Govinda's son, Yashvardhan Ahuja gave the former's fans an update on the actor's recovery. For the unversed, Govinda was rushed to the hospital earlier this month after the actor accidentally shot himself in the leg.
Govinda's son Yashvardhan, was spotted at a Diwali party on October 29, 2024 and shared an update on Govinda's recovery. He corroborated that the stitches have been removed and the actor will soon be back on his feet. Yashvardhan shared that Govinda is feeling much better and there is nothing to worry about. He said:
"Badiya, badiya. Much better hai, stitches nikal gaye hai, koi tension nahi hai. Mast, ab ek do hafto mein dance bhi karna chalu kar lenge."

Earlier this month, the news broke out that Govinda had accidentally shot himself and was rushed to the hospital. It was later disclosed that the actor was cleaning his revolver when he accidentally shot himself in the leg.
Dr Ramesh Agarwal, the doctor who treated Govinda, shared details about the extent of the actor's injury. The doctor also confirmed that the Ek Aur Ek Gyraah star has received 8 to 10 stitches. The case is currently being investigated by the Mumbai Police.

The Albela actor, Govinda was discharged from the hospital a few days after the incident. He hosted a press conference right after he was cleared to leave the hospital and shared that he could not believe what had happened. Clearing the speculations, the actor said:
"Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened. Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua?"
Govinda further shared that he was alone at his residence and preparing to leave for Kolkata. It was around 4:45 - 5 am and he was supposed to leave for a show, when the revolver fell and misfired. The actor recalled being horrified seeing the blood pooling around his feet. Govinda in his words:
"I was preparing to leave for the show...for Kolkata. It was around 4:45-5:00 am. Woh giri aur chal padi. I felt a jhatka and then saw...there was a fountain."
Govinda decided against involving anyone in the matter. So, he called his doctor, Dr Agarwal and shared what had happened. In the meantime, the actor took some videos and as soon as the doctor arrived, he was taken to the hospital. Sharing the details of the incident Govinda said:
"I thought I should not associate this incident with anyone else and trouble them, so I shot some videos and was then rushed to Dr Agarwal. He came with us and took me to Criti Care hospital."
