Gouri G. Kishan is a well-known actress who predominantly works in the Tamil and Malayalam film industries. The actress rose to fame with her role as young 'Jannu' in the movie 96, which catapulted her to stardom. The actress was also seen in movies like Boat, Hot Spot, Adiyae, Margamkali, and Jaanu. She is all set to be seen in the movie Others soon, but ahead of that, the actress made headlines when she didn't hold back from teaching a journalist a lesson after he made a sexist remark about her during the press conference for her new film.
Gouri G. Kishan recently attended a press conference for the movie, Others, which hit the theatres on November 7, 2025. During the same time, Gouri G. Kishan and her co-star, Aditya Madhavan, were answering the journalists.

One of the reporters, who is reportedly also a YouTuber, asked Aditya if he had faced any issues while lifting the actress during any scenes in Others, due to her weight. This sexist comment didn't go down well with the actress, who didn't hold back, slamming the journalist in front of him. She questioned the journalist how her weight concerned him in any way. She further added that her weight is her choice and it doesn't define her talents. Gouri can be quoted as saying:
"How does my weight concern you? How is that relevant to the film? My weight is my choice—it does not define my talent."

Gouri Kishan went on to reveal that every woman has a particular body type, and people shouldn't normalise bodyshaming others. The publicists intervened after the incident, and she lashed out, saying she had a point to make, but everyone else tried to silence her. Gouri can be quoted as saying:
"Every woman has a different body type. Stop normalising body-shaming. I have worked hard on character-driven films. I don’t need your validation. I have a point to make here, and everyone is silencing me."

The Chennai Press Club continued to condemn the behaviour of the journalist, who, even after the actress expressed her discomfort, continued to justify his remark and got engaged in a heated argument with her. In a statement, they shared:
"The Chennai Press Club strongly denounces such behaviour and urges fellow journalists to call out and question individuals who conduct themselves in a sexist or disrespectful manner. Furthermore, the Chennai Press Club appreciates actress Gouri Kishan for assertively and courageously expressing her views, even in the face of collective opposition during the press meet."
