Gemma Collins Complete Weight Loss Journey: Took Injections, Tried Juice Diet, Strange Side Effects

Gemma Collins is a well-known media personality who has made appearances in many English reality shows. However, apart from being an entertainer, she has also donned the hat of a successful businesswoman with her clothing, perfume, skincare line and many more such ventures. Recently, the star announced her upcoming new series, Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby, where she will showcase her journey of being a wife and a mother. Amid this new chapter of Gemma's life, here is a look at her physical transformation journey with weight loss. 

Gemma Collins took weight loss injections to control her appetite 

Gemma Collins has been quite open about her struggles with weight loss. The reality star has revealed that following different diets and procedures hasn't worked out well. However, after trying different things, Gemma finally found success in dropping a lot of weight with special injections to control her appetite. The Sun reported that Gemma had teamed up with the company Yazen and has been using the weight loss jabs, Mounjaro. 

For the unversed, Mounjaro is a National Health Service-approved medication which is used to treat type 2 diabetes. However, a person who is diagnosed as medically obese and has weight-related health issues can also be prescribed the medication by professionals to aid in fat loss. The jabs suppress hunger and help the body to burn fat instead of energy. Gemma Collins has also revealed that she has better control over her appetite after taking the injections. 

In an earlier reel shared by Gemma, the TV star was dining out with her nephew, Hayden. The aunt and nephew duo were both surprised at how well Gemma was controlling her appetite and food intake. She called the injections 'life-changing'. Meanwhile, Hayden stated that in the past, his aunt would have ordered everything on the menu and would still have been hungry at the end. Gemma's nephew said in the reel:

"We've come out for dinner today, and like she said, before she was on this injection she would have ordered the entire menu. But now you have left it, you physically can't eat it, and I'm impressed."

Gemma Collins' previous attempts at weight loss 

Gemma Collins shared that she has dropped from a Size 26 to a Size 20, and now she is aiming to drop 4 more sizes. However, before finding success with the weight loss injections, she had made many other attempts at fat loss as well. Gemma had tried an extreme juice diet for a month and a high-fibre diet, which helped her lose a significant amount of weight in a week. However, it wasn't sustainable for the star in the long term, stated a report by Luviacure. Gemma had also tried a gastric balloon procedure to help with her weight loss, but then had it removed after struggling with discomfort. 

Gemma Collins has shared some of the side effects of her rapid weight loss 

As the popular saying goes, 'No pain, no gain', Gemma has also faced some strange side effects due to her rapid weight loss. She revealed that her face now looks 'older' after going through the treatment. Gemma revealed that she hasn't gotten the 'Ozempic face' yet, but does notice some changes. For the uninitiated, the term "Ozempic face" refers to the aged appearance of the face after fat loss in the area. As per Luviacure, Gemma has used cosmetic procedures such as Botox, fillers and non-surgical lifts to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Talking about the side effects, Gemma shared:

“I don't know if it's since I've been losing weight. I sure haven't got Ozempic face yet, but it would be the dream right now. I've always had a fuller face, as you know. I do like expression around my eyes. I want to look natural still. But this just isn't right. What has happened? I am 44 but this is taking it to levels that I never, ever imagined it'd get to.”
